More about this organization
Two women are having a conversation in a modern office setting with glass walls and potted plants.

Arkin is one of the largest mental health care institutions in the Netherlands. Across eleven specialties, we work with over 4,000 dedicated colleagues to promote recovery, health, and resilience.

Arkin is a network organization in which strategy, collaboration, and innovation play an increasingly important role. The Executive Board receives direct support from the Communications, Legal & Privacy departments, the Executive Secretary, and the newly established Executive Board Office. We are seeking a Manager for that office: a key figure who provides oversight, connects people, and sets the direction and oversees the implementation of support for Arkin’s administrative core.

The position of Administrative Office Manager is a new role created as a result of an organizational change. A new consultation structure is also being established, with decision-making authority being delegated to lower levels of the organization. The Administrative Office Manager plays a key role in successfully implementing these changes.

As Executive Office Manager, you play a key role within Arkin. You are at the heart of the organization, working closely with the Board of Directors, and ensure that strategy, decision-making, and implementation are seamlessly aligned.

You will lead the Executive Office—a team of executive advisors, executive secretaries, and program managers—and be responsible for ensuring the coherence and professionalism of administrative support. You serve as a sparring partner for the Board of Directors and senior management, work closely with other colleagues in the Board’s direct support team, and ensure consistency in administrative processes and the implementation of strategic projects. You also ensure that the Executive Office operates in a future-proof manner.

You combine strategic insight with natural leadership. You know how to translate complex issues into clear processes, frameworks, and results. In doing so, you foster collaboration, ownership, and trust. You are visible, a unifying force, and have strong subject matter expertise: someone who inspires others, provides direction, and delivers results.

What you will be doing

  • You will steer Arkin’s administrative and strategic agenda and serve as a strong sounding board for the Board of Directors and senior management;
  • Ensuring that administrative decision-making, the policy cycle, and strategic projects and processes are well aligned;
  • Responsible for the coordination, monitoring, and implementation of innovation and change projects, in close consultation with the Board of Directors;
  • Ensuring quality, continuity, and knowledge retention within the Executive Office;
  • Promoting collaboration and cohesion within the organization and with external partners;
  • Leading a team of administrative advisors, administrative secretaries, and program managers;
  • Strengthening decision-making and process quality within the organization.

We offer you:

  • Terms of employment in accordance with the GGZ Collective Bargaining Agreement, pay scale 70 (minimum €5,813 and maximum €7,909 gross based on a 36-hour workweek);
  • This is a 36-hour-per-week position, with the intention of converting it to a permanent position if the candidate performs well;
  • An end-of-year bonus of 8.33% and 8.33% vacation pay;
  • You are building up a solid retirement pension with the Healthcare & Welfare Pension Fund.

In addition, Arkin offers a number of attractive employment benefits:

  • For commuting and business travel, you will receive a second-class transit pass, which can also be used for OV-fiets, or a mileage allowance;
  • Discounts on insurance from Univé and Centraal Beheer;
  • A work-from-home policy that includes reimbursement for setting up a workspace and compensation for days worked from home;
  • A flexible benefits plan that allows you to use your gross salary for additional vacation time, a bicycle purchase, and supplemental travel expenses;
  • For your well-being, in accordance with the collective bargaining agreement, an annual wellness budget of €1,000 (pro-rated based on length of service);
  • An annual wellness budget of up to €100 (for permanent employees working at least 18 hours per week);
  • Access to the Nrgize platform to participate in activities such as boot camp, yoga, and salsa dancing. You’ll also get unlimited access to GoodHabitz’s online courses.

What do you bring to the table?

  • Academic level of work and thinking;
  • Extensive experience in an administrative or policy-related role within a complex organization; experience in mental health care is a plus;
  • Experience in project management and change initiatives
  • Demonstrable experience managing professionals;
  • Strong analytical skills, excellent communication skills, and a results-oriented approach;
  • Leadership that connects: inspiring, coaching, and focused on ownership;
  • You’re bold, curious, and a team player
  • An entrepreneurial and adaptable mindset: you move seamlessly between strategy and operations.

A Certificate of Good Conduct (VOG) is a standard part of our hiring process, ensuring that we work together to create a safe and reliable work environment.
