Are you confident and self-assured, do you keep up with developments in our industries, and do you combine natural authority with a people-oriented approach?
With your experience as a manager, do you also know how to bring teams together and, drawing on your legal expertise, build cooperation, structure, and trust in a results-oriented and coaching-oriented manner? If so, we’re looking for you!
What will you be doing?
Within the organization, you will lead the teams responsible for the collective and individual legal advocacy of the members of the Horecabond and workers in the hospitality industry. Drawing on your affinity for legal matters and collective bargaining, you will translate our policies, ambitions, and objectives into concrete work plans, collective bargaining agreements, and collective and individual services. You have significant operational responsibility in this role. You identify trends in requests for assistance and focus on quality, speed, and careful referral.
You integrate the ability to distinguish between the needs of different teams and their members into your leadership style. You know how to bring the professionals within the teams together, strengthen collaboration between the teams and other teams within the organization, inspire them through (legal) content, and foster a sense of ownership on the work floor. You skillfully balance setting structure and boundaries with allowing room for initiatives and input from both the association and the organization. You navigate relationships with tact and possess a keen understanding of governance, organizational culture, and alignment.
In short, your main responsibilities are:
managing two teams (14 employees) in terms of both operations and content, based on team goals and our broader strategic direction, while taking the HR cycle into account;
(sector) translating policy and external developments into concrete work plans, results, and reports for both teams;
an MT role and working closely with colleagues on the MT.
You will report to the two-person board of De Horecabond. As a member of the management team, you will actively contribute to cross-team collaboration and management development, and serve as a constructive sounding board for the management team and the board.
What do you bring to the table?
You are a manager with initiative and a people-oriented approach. You are service-minded and understand what employees need (member-focused). You have a strong legal background. You possess a keen sense of political and administrative dynamics, and you are analytically sharp, development-oriented, and open to innovation. You also apply your commercial acumen when necessary.
You should also bring:

- Results-oriented, proactive, and a strong communicator;
- An affinity for our sectors (hospitality) and advocacy.
What do we offer you?
- A challenging role that combines operational management with substantive responsibilities;
- A forward-thinking organization where your ideas are welcome;
- A dedicated team of colleagues who support one another and with whom you’ll work to shape the future of the Dutch workforce;
- A contract for 32 hours per week (which is considered full-time at De Horecabond);
- A competitive salary based on Scale 15 of the FNV collective bargaining agreement (€5,217.00 – €7,280.57) on a full-time basis;
- Generous benefits package, including a mobility allowance;
