Flever is committed to building a Strong Society in Flevoland, both through implementation and by strengthening the labor market for the Health and Welfare sector. Through three programs, we contribute to the transformation of the sector: Labor Market & Education, Positive Health, and Empowering Residents. We make this contribution by gathering and sharing knowledge about the healthcare and welfare sector in Flevoland. In addition, we connect organizations and government agencies on shared challenges and help them put this knowledge into practice and find new solutions.
Our team places a high priority on engagement with social developments and issues. In 2020–2021, the organization underwent significant further development. As a result, we have a young, dynamic team that is diverse (including in terms of age), but has only been working together for two years. Developments in the healthcare and welfare sector place high demands on our community, which is why we are constantly adapting. We work passionately with our networks to improve the quality, accessibility, and manageability of healthcare and welfare in Flevoland.
Who are we looking for?
We are looking for an Operations Manager with knowledge of the social sector—someone who can approach their work with care and dedication and who is naturally at ease navigating the balance between growth, fast-paced environments, and a solid foundation. You are a strong team player and know how to provide our team of college- and university-educated consultants with the stability, structure, and insights they need. As an operations manager, you’ll find energy in moving with the organization’s dynamic, open, and transparent style. You’ll join the portfolio team, where you’ll work alongside program managers, the head of research, the head of communications, the transition leader, and the director to ensure that internal developments and the external environment align effectively. You will support the team and the executive director in steering and positioning the organization. This involves collaborating with clients to determine what needs to be delivered and how we will achieve it. In the role of Operations Manager, you will lead the operations team (currently 4 people) to work with them in supporting portfolio members and further developing the organization. To achieve this, you will collaborate with your team both tactically and strategically. Like the other members of the portfolio team, you can demonstrate a hands-on approach when necessary, ensuring that, together with your colleagues, the job gets done.
Your duties and responsibilities
- You will lead the operations team, which consists of: a financial officer, a financial assistant, an office manager, and an IT specialist.
- You will be responsible for developing the internal organization and business processes to ensure effective and efficient operations; you will provide guidance and be accountable for achieving the organization’s goals.
- You will develop HR policies and support portfolio members in their leadership roles.
- You will be responsible for developing, designing, preparing, and monitoring management reports and the company dashboard.
- In consultation with the Executive Director and the program managers, you will provide guidance to the operations team where necessary to achieve goals more effectively.
Our ideal candidate
- Has a bachelor's degree in business administration;
- Has experience with internal operations, including financial processes, within a government-funded organization.
- Has a flexible work ethic.
- Strong people manager.
- Is capable of planning and organizing, but also steps in to handle operational tasks when necessary.
- Has knowledge of and an affinity for HRM and management systems such as AFAS/Profit.
- Experience in the health and social services sector, including fundraising and program management, is a plus
We offer
- An organization where you can make a difference in society, where your qualities and talents are valued, and where you can make a real impact on improving effectiveness
- Competitive employment terms in accordance with the Social Work Collective Bargaining Agreement, with pay in pay scale 12 (the maximum for this scale is €6,015).
