The National Foundation for the Elderly (NOF) is dedicated to supporting older adults in the Netherlands. We are seeking an operations manager for the NOF.
“The Art of Growing Old Together and the Art of Being an Adult”
The National Foundation for the Elderly (NOF) is dedicated to helping older adults in the Netherlands prevent loneliness as much as possible. The NOF encourages older adults to consciously remain socially active. This helps them stay connected with others and feel that they are making a difference. In doing so, we inspire society to become an age-friendly community. The NOF develops projects, services, and activities that encourage older adults to remain active and vibrant. We do this based on several pillars: vitality, social activity, digital skills, and mobility. Our guiding principles are collaboration, working locally, and acting as a catalyst.
At the National Foundation for the Elderly (NOF), about 30 staff members and many volunteers work every day to build a society where every older person counts. We are a professional, diverse, and close-knit team. The NOF is an informal, dynamic organization with an office near Amersfoort Station. The NOF is led by its director, Kirsten Andres. Together with the operations manager, she forms the management team. The supervisory board oversees the organization and serves as both the employer and a sounding board for the executive director.
The Operations Manager (hereinafter referred to as the manager) leads the staff in the areas of finance, HR, Procurement, and IT. The department has a total of approximately 5–10 full-time equivalents. The manager’s role is strategic in nature and plays a leading role in the organization’s internal development.
Together with the director, you will work on the NOF’s strategy and ensure its operational implementation and translation. In doing so, you will keep a close eye on the medium term and ensure that up-to-date and relevant management information and annual reports are available. You will support the supervisory board by serving as an advisor on the board’s audit committee and will conduct consultations with the auditor on behalf of NOF. You will develop modern and appropriate HR policies and ensure that we keep pace with the ongoing digitization of our work processes and services.
Key responsibilities associated with this position include:
Financial planning, serving on the Board of Trustees’ audit committee, preparing analyses and reports, and developing plans and budgets to ensure the organization’s financial health
Change management, strategic workforce planning, hybrid work, and talent management, with the goal of translating the organization’s strategy into HR policies and procedures
Translating information needs derived from work and business processes into information provision, with the aim of optimizing data ownership and data-driven work practices.
Establishing and advising on the planning, monitoring, and evaluation system, and implementing it in policies and programs/projects, with the aim of ensuring compliance with quality standards and achieving the agreed-upon objectives.
Contract management and procurement negotiations aimed at ensuring an efficient and effective procurement process.
In addition to a pleasant work environment and the opportunity to make a difference for a vulnerable group in our society, we offer a gross annual salary of up to 90K and attractive benefits.
