Are you able to easily switch between strategic and administrative levels and day-to-day operations, while also making the connection to societal developments? We are looking for a: Manager of Consulting & Support for 36 hours per week.
What will you be doing here?
As a manager at Talis, you’ll manage processes, provide direction, build connections, lead, delegate, coach, set guidelines, and engage with and support your employees. You’ll serve as a role model and communicate both the “big picture” and the “day-to-day” details. You’ll bring energy and inspiration to the organization. You are adept at switching between strategy and execution, between content and process. In addition, you visibly shape the development of your employees.
As the Manager of Advisory & Support, you will lead a team of approximately 20 professionals within a dynamic organization. Together with your team, you will serve as the link between the strategic and administrative levels and the operational side of the business, connecting societal developments with Talis. The Advisory & Support department supports core processes and advises the board on matters such as policy developments outside the organization and their implementation within Talis. In the coming period, the focus will be on expanding the network with societal partners to improve collaboration and the exchange of information. Further defining the integrated advisory role of the A&S department within Talis is also important in this regard.
What do you bring to the table?
You are someone with a clear vision and approach, using your excellent people skills to build connections with your colleagues, management team members, the board, network partners, and—last but not least—the professionals on your team. You know better than anyone that we live in a dynamic world, where societal developments often place the greatest pressure on the most disadvantaged (the target groups for whom and with whom Talis works). It is precisely that social commitment and your forward-looking vision that ensure you are the right person in the right place. Guided by this vision, you take on your responsibilities as a sparring partner, critical questioner, inspiring leader, and observer. You show courage and dare to ask the right questions, while also hitting the brakes when the organization’s mission and work come under pressure. You champion the public interest without losing sight of business performance.
We are looking for a manager who can bring a different perspective and a new network to the table. Someone who is persuasive, inspires trust, is authentic, and is socially engaged. Someone who wants to do the right things, in addition to doing things right. You are also approachable, decisive, and proactive. You rely on the expertise and professionalism of your team and know how to provide effective guidance. You inspire and coach your employees and value a healthy work-life balance. Additionally, team members have an open attitude and value an empathetic yet lighthearted approach.

Who are we?
Talis is one of the largest housing associations in Gelderland. We manage approximately 15,500 rental units in Nijmegen and Wijchen. We provide suitable, affordable, and future-proof housing in well-functioning neighborhoods, combined with quality care. We are visible and present in our neighborhoods and close to our tenants. We value our tenants’ wishes. We work together to improve the quality of the living environment and the quality of life in the neighborhood and on the streets. That is why we engage in frequent dialogue with customers and other stakeholders, such as community organizations, to achieve this.
At Talis, we operate under a collegial Executive Board structure, with the management team and other teams reporting to it. There is a clear distinction between the primary processes—Leasing & Sales/Onboarding, Real Estate, and Quality of Life—and the general processes of Advisory & Support and Operations. Managers at Talis are fully accountable for the organization’s results and, as part of the Management Team (MT), make decisions on all matters within the framework of the current budget. Each manager has a specific area of expertise and a team for which they are responsible. You are responsible for a wide range of disciplines: policy development, communications, HR, procurement, the in-house counsel, and project leaders. And, of course, for fostering the professional development of the team members.
Talis is a flat organization with an informal work atmosphere. Because we have many professionals, each responsible for their own area of expertise, we work closely together. We have a culture where colleagues feel comfortable speaking up and are eager to learn from one another. Continuous professional development is therefore considered a must. In addition to fun company outings, we also invest in joint training and courses. Our employees have the freedom to perform their roles independently of time and location. This is facilitated by our many offices and workspaces, and everyone is given the opportunity to set up a home office.
What do we offer?
We offer a one-year employment contract for 36 hours per week in a dynamic environment, with the possibility of a permanent position based on satisfactory performance. You can count on a competitive salary (scale N) and excellent benefits in accordance with the collective bargaining agreement for residential services. We encourage lifelong learning. We operate on a hybrid work model, which helps maintain a healthy work-life balance.
