More about this organization
Five circular icons representing the following themes: climate justice, human rights, water and land management, public financing, and trade.

Both ENDS works toward the transition to a sustainable, social, and just world, together with partner organizations in international networks that drive systemic change. Both ENDS initiates and facilitates policy discussions among policymakers, our partner organizations, and activists who are confronted with the consequences of international and Dutch trade policy, financing, and climate policy. Our equal partnership with partner organizations is characterized by joint strategy development and research, information and knowledge sharing, and coordination in fundraising and policy advocacy.

Both ENDS is a professional, internationally active organization working toward the transition to a sustainable, social, and just world.
Both ENDS is seeking a member for its Supervisory Board.

Both ENDS is looking for a:

Member of the Supervisory Board

The organization has an independent Supervisory Board, which oversees, among other things, the organization’s strategic development, financial health, integrity, and efficiency. The implementation of policy and day-to-day operations is delegated to the Board of Directors. The Supervisory Board has the authority to make decisions on various aspects of strategic policy and acts as the employer of the Board of Directors. The Supervisory Board consists of six members from academia, the business community, politics, and the public sector.

Profile

  • You share the belief that civil society organizations make a crucial contribution to local and global sustainable development.
  • You have a keen understanding of the international economic landscape and are familiar with the dilemmas that characterize the transition to a sustainable society—both within the Netherlands itself and in the relationships between our open trading economy and countries in the Global South.
  • You have experience with fundraising for charitable organizations.
  • You challenge the organization, help realize Both ENDS’ ambitions, and provide working methods that enhance Both ENDS’ toolkit.
  • You are an ambassador for the organization and help it gain access to your networks.

The position is unpaid and requires a time commitment of at least 4 working days per year. Expenses will be reimbursed.

We value diverse backgrounds and cultures within our organization and would like to see them reflected in our team. Candidates whose backgrounds enhance the diversity of our team are therefore especially encouraged to apply.

Procedure

Do you have any questions about the position? Or are you interested in applying right away? If so, please contact Danielle Hirsch, Director of Both ENDS, by August 31, 2023. The timeline for the selection process is set to conclude on October 1, 2023. The Board will make the appointment at its meeting in October 2023.
