Atlant Primary Education is looking for a new supervisor with a focus on Education & Quality. Are you a supervisor who operates on a foundation of trust and would like to contribute to the development of our organization? Then read on.
Atlant Primary Education is a foundation for special education with nine schools in the municipality of Velsen. Approximately 3,000 children from ten different neighborhoods attend our schools every day. Velsen is a diverse municipality with stark contrasts: a coastal town with a beach and the beautiful Kennemer Dunes, alongside the ruggedness of shipping and the heavy industry of Tata Steel. Atlant has schools in neighborhoods with great potential, as well as in areas facing challenges.
We are committed to quality education! Our Atlas outlines our vision and highlights our current initiatives. We are dedicated to providing a challenging educational experience, applying sound pedagogical practices, and fostering care for oneself, others, and the environment.
We offer parents a choice of Dalton schools, development-oriented schools, unit-based education, and a free school stream. We are proud to be part of Opleidingsschool IJmond, where we work together with InHolland University of Applied Sciences and the school boards in our region to train new education professionals.
Atlant has 227 full-time equivalent employees, serves 3,000 children, and has a budget of approximately 22 million. The organization is regarded as a pleasant place to work, with a culture centered on collaboration. Through a quality calendar, the organization focuses on “learning-centeredness” and the continuous improvement of educational quality. The organization adheres to the principles of Rhineland-style management.
In our region, the teacher shortage is evident every day.
Atlant Primary Education considers good and sound governance to be important and adheres to the Code of Good Governance in Primary Education. Atlant involves the teams, the Supervisory Board, and the Joint Participation Council in the organization and policies within and around the schools, and places great importance on horizontal accountability and genuine dialogue. You can find more information about Atlant, the Supervisory Board, our board of directors, our management, and our ambitions on theAtlant website.
Due to the expiration of one member’s term, we are seeking a new member for the Supervisory Board with a background in Education & Quality. The Supervisory Board also operates according to the model of trust and Appreciative Inquiry. We are looking for a supervisor who finds working within this dynamic environment engaging. The Board works with the following committees: Operations, Education & Professional Development, and Compensation.
General qualifications for a member of the Supervisory Board:
This member serves on the Education & Professional Development Committee. Given the current composition of the Council, we strongly encourage men to respond.
Commitment, expectations, and compensation
The Supervisory Board meets an average of six times a year. Consultations with the GMR are held twice a year. In addition, there are school visits and thematic discussions.
The Supervisory Board’s compensation is based on the maximum volunteer allowance and amounts to approximately 2,100 euros per year. In addition, there is the possibility of reimbursement for expenses.
