Kunstlinie is Almere’s premier theater and exhibition center, located on the Esplanade along the Weerwater. The iconic building, featuring three theater halls and an art gallery, serves as a cultural hub where the performing arts, visual arts, architecture, and social themes converge. Kunstlinie contributes to the development of Almere as a young and dynamic city by making culture accessible to diverse audiences and by providing a space for connection, talent, and imagination.
The organization faces the challenge of strengthening its financial foundation and further expanding its collaboration with the municipality and partners. At the same time, Kunstlinie is working on a new strategic direction that focuses on audience development, collaboration, and cultural connection. Kunstlinie adheres to the Cultural Governance Code, which emphasizes good governance, effective oversight, and transparency. The Supervisory Board oversees Kunstlinie’s artistic and social performance, as well as its operational and financial continuity. The Board consists of five members and works with a compensation and audit committee. The new member we are seeking will serve as chair of the audit committee.
The Supervisory Board consists of members who are committed, knowledgeable, and of high integrity, and who contribute to the team as a whole based on their individual backgrounds. We combine a warm and visible commitment with an independent and critical perspective. Each member is able to assess the broad outlines of our policies and also brings their own area of expertise to the table.

For this specific position, we are seeking a supervisor with expertise in finance and business operations, specifically someone who possesses the following qualities:
The Supervisory Board meets approximately five times a year and also holds meetings of the audit committee, the works council, and thematic meetings. Members are expected to be actively involved, both in meetings and in Kunstlinie’s major events. Regular attendance at performances, exhibitions, and other activities is, of course, part of this.
We view diversity in background, perspective, and beliefs as an asset. We strive for a balanced composition of the Board. Given the current composition, preference is given to a woman.
The Supervisory Board operates in accordance with the Cultural Governance Code. The Kunstlinie Foundation is designated as a Public Benefit Organization (ANBI). This means that compensation for members of the Supervisory Board is limited. Remuneration is therefore provided in accordance with Article 2 of the Decree on Remuneration for Advisory Bodies and Committees. There is also provision for training and professional development as a supervisory board member.
