
Due to the end of a member’s term of office, we are seeking a member of the Supervisory Board (RvT) with a background in HRM, preferably with a broad social perspective and an innovative and entrepreneurial outlook. This position is being filled upon the recommendation of the Joint Participation Council (GMR). Due to the diversity of the student population, we strive for representation across all levels of the organization. Given the current composition of the board, female candidates who can contribute to the board’s diversity and rejuvenation are strongly encouraged to apply. We are open to first-time board members, provided they have experience at the strategic level.

The new member will be appointed by the Leiden City Council. The Supervisory Board will submit the nomination to the City Council. The Supervisory Board will receive advice on this matter from an Appointments Advisory Committee (BAC) comprising members of the Supervisory Board, the Executive Board, and the General Student Council.
The Leonardo da Vinci School Group is a public school group in the city of Leiden consisting of four schools: Da Vinci College Kagerstraat, Da Vinci College Lammenschans, Leonardo College, and Da Vinci College ISK/DCC (International Transition Class/Da Vinci City College). Together, the schools provide education ranging from VMBO to VWO, including Technasium, elite sports programs, and education for newcomers. The school group has a total of over 3,000 students and more than 350 staff members. The school group has a two-member Executive Board (CvB) that functions as the competent authority and consists of two principal-administrators. They directly manage the administrative office and the four schools.

The Board of Trustees serves as the employer, supervisor, and sounding board for the Executive Board. Comprising five members, the Board of Trustees oversees the institution’s operations in accordance with the Code of Good Educational Governance issued by the VO-raad. To bring clarity and balance to the relationship with the Executive Board and to enable accountability and legitimization of policy toward the broader community, the Board of Trustees established a new oversight framework in 2022. The term of office for members of the Board of Trustees is four years, and members may be reappointed once.
The time commitment involves approximately seven meetings per year and a few working visits. Members of the Supervisory Board receive compensation in accordance with VTOI-NVTK standards.
