As a board member, would you like to make a significant contribution to the development of pop music in the southwestern Netherlands? Do you have a clear vision regarding artistic policy and cultural entrepreneurship? If so, we warmly invite you to apply to join the Bibelot Board of Trustees!
About Bibelot
Trinket is the oldest live music venue in the Netherlands, located in the unique Energiehuis in Dordrecht. With a rich 50-year history and a young, dedicated team, Bibelot provides a platform for local and national artists. Our goal is to put Dordrecht on the map as a vibrant cultural city and to serve as a key hub for talent development.
With over 200 events per year—including around 150 concerts and 50 club nights, not counting commercial rentals—it is one of the most important cultural hotspots in the Drechtsteden region. Artists such as Son Mieux, S10, Froukje, Goldband, BLØF, UB40, and De Dijk, as well as heavier acts like Epica, Knocked Loose, and Terror, have all graced the stages of Bibelot.
Bibelot also produces its own concepts, such as the neoclassical/ambient electronic bed concerts by
Upward and a series of surprises
Wanderlust. With its summer terrace right out front, Brandstof has also become a popular spot for the public, featuring weekly performances by emerging talent as part of the Studio Brandstof series.
Bibelot is committed to offering a program that is accessible to a wide audience, such as
Special Star Disco, a disco night for people with physical or mental disabilities, and the
Senior Swing, a dance program for seniors. We also have a low-stimulus space and place a special emphasis on broad accessibility at our concerts.
About the Supervisory Board
Bibelot is a foundation organized under a Supervisory Board model. The Supervisory Board oversees the director in accordance with recent developments in corporate governance. The board also serves as the director’s employer, reviews decision-making, and provides both solicited and unsolicited advice to the director. The board acts as a sounding board and, if the bylaws so require, approves decisions. Both internally and externally, the board fulfills an ambassadorial role. A good board can adapt and strike a balance between distance and proximity, oversight and sounding board functions, personal involvement and administrative detachment, and can combine firmness with accessibility. The Supervisory Board endorses the Cultural Governance Code, the Diversity, Inclusion, and Equality Code, and the Fair Practice Code. The regulations of the Supervisory Board are

multi-year policy plan.
The board meets six times a year. A good board consists of members who complement one another, both in terms of expertise and approach; they interact with one another in a constructively critical manner and are eager to contribute collectively.
What we're looking for:
We are looking for an inspiring and preferably experienced member of the Supervisory Board with a strong background in the arts and culture. As an artistic sparring partner, you will contribute to shaping a robust artistic policy. You are able to remain objective and set aside your own preferences for the greater good. You can set aside sufficient time to attend our meetings and occasionally advise the director outside of them. You enjoy contributing ideas to a developing organization facing the challenges of a cultural institution.
Your profile
- Artistic Input: You have an affinity for various music genres and can contribute ideas regarding program selections. For example, you have experience as a festival programmer, composer, artist, or cultural entrepreneur.
- Supervisory experience: Experience in supervision or management is not required but is preferred, ideally in the cultural sector. You are familiar with the challenges faced by cultural organizations and are adept at navigating municipal and political structures.
- Knowledge of the region: While you don’t necessarily have to be from Dordrecht, an affinity for the region and a willingness to get involved are important.
- Bibelot, and by extension the Board of Trustees, values a composition that is as broad and diverse as possible in terms of gender, age, cultural background, and specific expertise.
What we offer
- The Supervisory Board meets six times a year. The meeting atmosphere is informal yet professional.
- There is no pay, but you will be generously rewarded with free admission to concerts and discounts on food and drinks. Travel expenses will be reimbursed.
- You’ll be part of a team that can make a real difference for Bibelot and the cultural scene in Dordrecht. You’ll help Bibelot continue to grow and thrive.
