The Supervisory Board of Stichting Milieu Centraal is seeking a new supervisor with

a strong financial and business background. In addition to the Supervisory Board, you will also become a member of the

Audit Committee. It is important that you understand the challenges of a largely government-run

a foundation funded by the government that understands and is committed to sustainability issues.


The board consists of a Director of Policy and a Director of Operations, and they work closely together

in collaboration with the Supervisory Board. The Supervisory Board oversees the independent and social

What will you be doing? 

  • Monitor the financial health and continuity of Milieu Centraal. 
  • Serving on the Audit Committee. 
  • To serve as a sounding board and sparring partner for the board on various topics related to the

    business operations, such as finance, business continuity, digital transformation, and the use of

    the use of AI in internal and external business processes.

  • Contributing ideas on the strategic direction and the impact of financial decisions. Contributing ideas

    on risk diversification, such as securing alternative sources of financing. 

What should you bring?*

  • Financial and/or economic background and experience in finance and business administration

    processes at the strategic level.

  • Knowledge and experience with AI and digital transformation for the benefit of

    consumer communications, data analysis, marketing, and/or project management.

  • The knowledge and experience needed to serve as a regulatory interlocutor on risk and conduct.
  • Knowledge and experience in the management and/or finances of a medium-sized or large foundation.
  • Knowledge and experience in the field of government grants and alternative

    funding options, such as fundraising, impact financing, and strategic

    partnerships.

  • Can serve as a critical sounding board on agile growth.
  • Knowledge of governance (processes).

Time commitment and compensation

  • The Supervisory Board meets four to five times a year in Utrecht.
  • Attend four Audit Committee meetings per year.
  • Occasional participation in representative meetings.
  • Preparation and communication via email.
  • The salary for this position is €5,141 per year and a

    travel allowance.
