The Business Plan

Stadlander is committed to a broad public housing mission and is tackling it with determination. In our 2024–2027 business plan, we outline our ambition: to improve the quality of life in our neighborhoods, accelerate housing construction, and invest in sustainable, future-proof homes. In the coming years, we will build 1,250 new homes and renovate 3,000.

Tenants can turn to us at every stage of life—from first-time renters to seniors, from their first home to clustered housing or assisted living. This calls for new housing models and appropriate allocation. It is a key priority in our housing allocation process, in which we carefully consider what constitutes responsible choices. Our resources are sufficient, but not unlimited. That is why we make conscious and sustainable choices, with an eye toward future generations and maintaining our financial health.

Digitization and automation play a key role in improving our services. We strive for a faster, smarter, and more personalized approach, based on data and a results-oriented approach. At the same time, we create opportunities for innovation, collaboration, and tenant engagement.

Stadlander is an agile and adaptive organization with deep roots in the region. With our social mission firmly established, we are fully committed to providing quality, affordable housing—both now and in the future.

Stadlander Governance

The core mission of the Supervisory Board is to encourage and ensure that the management and the organization provide high-quality public housing products and services at acceptable costs and risks, with input from relevant stakeholders and within legal and internal frameworks.

The Supervisory Board monitors the continuity, legitimacy, effectiveness, legality, and reputation of the actions of both the management and the organization. In doing so, the Board fulfills four roles: employer, supervisor, sounding board, and point of contact for stakeholders.

About the Board of Supervisors

The Supervisory Board consists of five members and has four standing committees: Remuneration, Audit, Real Estate, and Agenda. In addition, ad hoc committees may be established, for example, when recruiting a new supervisory board member.

The members of the Supervisory Board are independent, act without instruction or consultation, and adhere to the Housing Associations Governance Code. The Supervisory Board functions as a multidisciplinary team. Each member contributes personal skills and subject-matter expertise. The board evaluates its performance, understanding of its duties, and working methods on an annual basis. The Supervisory Board’s working methods are set forth in the Supervisory Board Regulations, available on the Stadlander website.

Expertise of Supervisory Board members in general

The Supervisory Board strives for a balanced composition in which members collectively contribute expertise in areas such as governance, public housing, real estate development, social issues, healthcare and welfare, administrative decision-making, finance, organizational development, legal advice, and IT/data. Members are generalists with specific areas of expertise. They possess:

  • An interest in public housing and Stadlander’s target audience;
  • Strategic and analytical skills;
  • Independence and critical reflection;
  • Understanding of business operations;
  • Social engagement and a relevant network;
  • Experience in governance, management, or oversight (or a willingness to develop these skills);
  • Ability to provide the board with both solicited and unsolicited advice, while maintaining a collaborative approach.

Candidates without supervisory experience are also strongly encouraged to apply.

Specific qualifications for this position

  • A strong connection to Stadlander’s service area (West Brabant or Tholen);
  • Has knowledge of or experience with digitization, IT, and/or service provision;
  • Possesses administrative acumen and an understanding of social trends;
  • A social housing agency values tenant participation.

In addition, you are approachable, committed, a team player, and willing to maintain active contact with the tenant organizations. The four HBVs in the outlying areas (Tholen, Halsteren, Steenbergen, and Putte) are represented in the Platform of Tenants’ Interest Associations.
