OFW is the leading provider of housing in the municipality of Dronten

• Oost Flevoland Woondiensten (OFW) (www.ofw.nl) is the only housing association in the municipality of Dronten. With nearly 5,000 homes (including student housing and care units) and approximately 60 employees, we ensure that some 10,000 tenants can live in the towns of Biddinghuizen, Dronten, and Swifterbant.
• We believe that a good home—a safe and comfortable foundation—is essential for feeling a sense of “space” and, as a result, being able to grow. That is why we ensure that everyone—regardless of income, background, or health—can live well in our community. As a social organization, we always do this in a sustainable way, with an eye toward the future.
• Ensuring an adequate supply of high-quality, affordable housing in a pleasant neighborhood where people can live well together is at the heart of our mission. We achieve this by maintaining close contact with our tenants and prospective tenants, with the goal of helping them feel at home in Dronten.
• We actively involve the Tenants' Interest Association, the municipality of Dronten, and other partners and stakeholders in the development and implementation of our policies.
• We have strong customer satisfaction scores and are committed to making sure everyone feels “at home” in Dronten. We will continue to work toward this goal in the coming years. For example, we have plans to build nearly 400 rental units and modernize another 400 homes. The Board of Directors

• As a member of the supervisory board, you and your four fellow board members oversee the policies of the managing director (Noek Pouw) and the general affairs of the housing association. The articles of incorporation and the Strategic Plan, among other documents, serve as your guiding principles. The Supervisory Board also serves as a sounding board for the CEO, for example in the preparation of complex and strategic decisions. In addition to its role as a supervisor of the management, the Supervisory Board is also the employer of the management.
• As a board member, you will be able to assess, from a supervisory perspective, the public housing, social, sustainability, and financial aspects that underpin management decisions.
• Within the board, you are an actively engaged member who can use your expertise to help your colleagues make more informed judgments and decisions, and who can also grow as a supervisor through the input of your colleagues and professional development.

Your profile

To complete our Board of Directors, we are looking for you if you:

• have up-to-date knowledge of and experience in public administration, as well as an understanding of political and social dynamics and interests (at the municipal, provincial, and national levels);
• identifies emerging trends early on in the political and social sector, within (civil society) organizations, and among (supra)local networks;
• have a clear understanding of the social challenges facing housing cooperatives and stakeholders;
• have an understanding of OFW’s scope of work and stakeholders, or a willingness to learn more about them.

The current members of the supervisory board are looking for a colleague who is also committed to fostering a positive and effective group dynamic. They all have solid supervisory experience and are seeking a colleague who can bring a fresh perspective, who is open-minded, and who can raise questions or bring issues to the agenda based on a fresh and engaged view of society. Experience in a supervisory role is not required.

The supervisory board currently consists of three men and one woman. We are looking for the best candidate, so the position is open to everyone. In filling this position, we aim to create a diverse supervisory board, in the belief that this diversity contributes to a broad exchange of ideas from different perspectives, thereby leading to sound decision-making. This diversity is reflected, among other things, in a balanced distribution of expertise and qualities, a balanced mix of social focus, cultural background, age, and gender among the supervisory board members, as well as their professional backgrounds.
