The power of support services and reintegration resources. That is what the Support Services and Reintegration Resources Department is all about. As the National Manager of this department and responsible for the domain/services, you’ll have the opportunity to make a difference for people with disabilities, so that they too can (once again) pursue education or work. This includes the possibility of providing an interpreter or job coach, adapted transportation, necessary workplace accommodations, and much more. You will also advise on the use of reintegration programs and training. Exactly what is needed to help that one person with a disability and/or who is no longer employed participate in the workforce and mainstream education.
The National Implementation Unit for Facilities and Reintegration Resources (VRIM) focuses on procuring and providing products and services for the implementation of reintegration and training programs, as well as on providing facilities that enable people with a work-related disability to work, pursue education, or participate in social activities. This implementation unit, consisting of approximately 260 people, works closely with the Contract and Supplier Management department and the department that manages the reintegration budget from the Ministry of Social Affairs and Employment (SZW). In other words, the VRIM domain. Together with these more than 350 colleagues, you will be responsible for procuring these services, advising on their appropriate use, and ensuring lawful and timely delivery within the budget allocated by the ministries.
VRIM’s mission is: to provide citizens and employers with adequate, lawful, and timely services, as well as reintegration resources and training to departments within the UWV, so that citizens can participate in the labor market or education now or in the future. We are the indispensable partner of the Werkbedrijf divisions ABR (Labor Market Mediation and Reintegration), LLO (Lifelong Development), and the SMZ (Social-Medical Affairs) division for the provision of reintegration resources and training (services).
Our goal is to enable even more people to participate through the use of facilities and reintegration resources.
The National Implementation Unit VRIM is part of the National Implementation, Staff, and Domains Directorate. This is a dynamic directorate within the Werkbedrijf where various independent units shape and drive the ongoing development of the Werkbedrijf division. As a national manager, you will operate at various levels to ensure effectiveness. This means you will also speak at external meetings, thereby representing the UWV.
You will directly manage a team of 11 managers, the national staff, and the VRIM program manager. In this role, you will report to the Director of National Implementation, Staff, and Information Products. The national unit for Benefits and Reintegration Resources consists of approximately 260 employees.
The national VRIM unit operates in a changing environment. The key priorities and changes for the national manager in the coming years are:
At UWV, we believe it is important for our people to work together in a customer-focused and results-oriented manner. We ask that you feel comfortable with UWV’s leadership profile, which centers on the concept of “balance.” As a leader at UWV, you operate in a complex world where you act independently yet with political and administrative sensitivity, where you innovate yet also provide stability, where you coach yet also guide, and where you keep an eye on the big picture yet also on the people involved.
You possess consulting skills at various levels, including the executive level, and you have a strong sense of strategic insight, flexibility in your approach, resilience under pressure, empathy, and the ability to build connections.
You are able to think conceptually without losing sight of the practical implementation (big-picture perspective).

About the Werkbedrijf Division:
The Werkbedrijf division focuses on job placement and reintegration. We do this by matching job seekers with employers. We focus primarily on job seekers who are far removed from the labor market and on employers who wish to hire these job seekers. In doing so, we actively seek collaboration with labor market partners such as municipalities, employers, and staffing agencies. The division currently has approximately 6,600 employees. We appeal to citizens’ personal responsibility and self-reliance. In addition to digital services, our employees are increasingly providing in-person services. The Werkbedrijf aims to become a comprehensive public service provider in the labor market by 2024, working for everyone. In doing so, we take ownership of our social mission, make the labor market transparent, and are committed to improving the connection between education and the labor market. We are fully leveraging our expertise and services to prevent unemployment and better serve employers. This requires a stronger relationship with employers. Additionally, we know what works and when job seekers can use our online services via thewebsite werk.nl.
We value diversity. Different perspectives, backgrounds, and insights enhance our intellectual capacity and expand our range of solutions, enabling us to best meet the needs of society. It doesn’t matter where you were born, what you believe in, how old you are, or whom you love. In this way, we work together to create an inclusive work environment where everyone feels at home and has the opportunity to grow. For more information about the UWV, please visit our website.
