The Public & Programming Department at the Allard Pierson Museum is seeking a driven project initiator for the Archeohotspot . This position is available on either a temporary or freelance basis.
The ArcheoHotspot is a meeting place where visitors can engage with archaeological heritage in an accessible and interactive way. The initiative aims to spark people’s curiosity about the historical context of archaeological finds and actively involve them in ongoing archaeological research. The ArcheoHotspot is staffed by enthusiastic volunteers and plays a central role in the collaboration between the Allard Pierson, ACASA (Amsterdam Centre for Ancient Studies and Archaeology), and the Monuments and Archaeology Department of the City of Amsterdam. Various activities take place at the ArcheoHotspot that align with scientific research and the collections and exhibitions of the Allard Pierson. In this way, a bridge is built between the past and the present in an inspiring manner.
As the ArcheoHotspot project lead, you will be responsible for establishing and formalizing partnerships between internal and external stakeholders and for developing a project plan aimed at embedding the ArcheoHotspot sustainably within the Allard Pierson organization.

For this position, we are offering a temporary contract for 8 to 24 hours per week for a maximum period of six months. We prefer a contract for services as a self-employed professional or placement through the UvA’s staffing agency.
Depending on relevant experience at the start of employment, the salary ranges from €3,378 to €5,331 gross per month based on a full 38-hour workweek (scale 10). This does not include the 8% vacation pay and 8.3% year-end bonus. TheCollective Labor Agreement for Dutch Universitiesapplies. If the position is filled on a freelance basis, the fee depends on relevant experience and is based on a project rate.

The Allard Pierson Museum collects, manages, makes accessible, researches, and presents valuable and relevant cultural heritage from antiquity to the present day. The Public & Programming Department contributes to the creation of exhibitions and other types of programming.
