Interim Program Manager (36 hours)

FunX is the dynamic radio station for young people in the city, with a broad and diverse audience. Purpose of the position

Do you have experience leading creative teams and a passion for radio and media? FunX is looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Interim Program Director to cover maternity leave. In this temporary role, you’ll be responsible for ensuring our content strategy is on point and making sure our programming lineup seamlessly aligns with the preferences and interests of our young, multicultural audience. Job Description

As Interim Program Director at FunX, you will be responsible for managing and coordinating the radio programs and the content team. Together with the Business Director, you will be part of the executive team of the FunX Foundation and report to the Board of Directors. You will work closely with the NPO station manager to deliver consistent and impactful programming. Your focus will be on overseeing the editorial strategy, guiding creative teams, and ensuring that both national and local content aligns with the needs of our young and diverse audience.

Key responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the Business Manager to ensure that programs are implemented within the established budgets and business objectives.
  • Managing and coaching the editors-in-chief of both the national and local editorial teams, with a specific focus on developing strong journalistic content for urban areas.
  • Work with the music editorial team to ensure a diverse and up-to-date music mix.
  • Maintaining contact with external partners and stakeholders.
  • Overseeing the implementation of ongoing projects and programs within the established timelines and budgets.
  • Respond quickly to current events and social issues that align with FunX’s profile.

Job Requirements:

  • Proven experience in a similar role within the media or radio industry.
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills.
  • Experience working in an organizational structure where program policy and operational management are closely intertwined.
  • An affinity with FunX’s target audience and a thorough understanding of cultural and musical trends.
  • Creativity and the ability to respond flexibly to changes and developments.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to motivate and lead diverse teams.
  • A flexible and stress-resistant work ethic combined with a solution-oriented mindset.
