We are seeking an Interim Operations Manager for a 6- to 9-month maternity leave replacement.
Profile
Morgen is a leading mid-sized umbrella organization with various childcare brands and integrated child centers. Morgen has a total of 40 locations with 450 employees who collectively care for 3,500 children each week. Morgen’s brands each have their own identity and approach, adding something unique to the whole. The service center in Rijswijk handles HR matters, career counseling, pedagogical support, and training programs within the Morgen Academy, among other things. They share knowledge and expertise with one another.
Morgen is a nonprofit social organization. “Morgen has a strong vision for children’s development. After all, no child can relive their childhood. That is why Morgen works with heart, mind, and hands to promote equal opportunities and inclusivity—for a future in which all children can reach their full potential!”
We are looking for:
- A financial professional who can translate goals into concrete action, stays grounded in the here and now, and has the courage to ask the right critical questions—with a curious mindset—about people, numbers, processes, and plans.
- Someone who is capable of preparing reports, scenarios, and budgets on their own and who serves as a liaison between different departments.
- An authentic individual with substantial expertise and excellent communication skills. A people person who can effectively bridge gaps between different areas of the organization, with the rest of the team, and particularly with managers.
You are a true team player who keeps our ambition firmly in mind, translates it into strategic objectives, and turns the goals of the operations department into concrete results. You can easily set priorities, maintain a big-picture perspective, and adapt quickly, while also staying calm under pressure. You are skilled at preparing (policy-based) management reports and, using your people skills, can coach team members to make the most of their talents. For your team, but above all for colleagues across the organization, you are a curious sparring partner and the financial conscience who seeks to support and inspire.
What will you be doing?
You will lead the Finance Department and the Facilities Department, which consist of six employees. Using a coaching approach, you will help these professionals and your teams grow in terms of customer focus and greater self-management, while also supporting them in their day-to-day work. You will do this using “LOL,” the management concept and leadership style that stands for Leadership, Openness, and Courage.
You are a member of the four-person Management Team, which consists of the CEO, the Primary Process Manager, and the HR, Pedagogy, and Quality Manager. You contribute to the Management Team through your knowledge and experience in operational management, business control, and IT. You are responsible for all documents in the planning and control cycle.
In general, the assignment will focus on time spent with the team and ongoing processes related to financial statements, reporting to the Board of Supervisors, scenarios, and facility management.
We are looking for someone to work 32 hours a week in the Facilities department, or 24 hours a week in Finance only.
Mandatory requirement:
You must be able to step in immediately and have a strong understanding of finance, as this coincides with the financial reporting period. This is a key product for which you will share responsibility. Experience with Exact is a must.
The plan is to conduct a smooth transition in January, given that maternity leave is scheduled to begin on February 1.
