
Teylers Museum is the oldest museum in the Netherlands. It was founded in 1784 and is still housed in its original building. At the museum, you can marvel at art and science. It houses a unique collection of fossils, minerals, books, coins, medals, scientific instruments, paintings, and drawings of international significance. We organize diverse and successful (international) exhibitions, ranging from Leonardo da Vinci to Dinomakers, from The Great Illusion – 200 Years of Virtual Realities to Michelangelo.
As Hospitality Manager, you embody hospitality toward visitors and serve as a role model for your colleagues. You contribute to the development and implementation of Teylers Museum’s hospitality policy, guided by its mission, brand identity, and brand values. In addition, you will lead the hospitality team and coordinate with other colleagues on the floor and in the back office. You will serve as the coordinator of the (online) cash register and ticketing system. In the entrance area and throughout the museum, you will ensure a welcoming and smooth flow of operations.
You will be working at a casual organization, in the Public Affairs department. Your main responsibilities will include:
- (Contribute to) developing and implementing hospitality policies:
- Managing the cashiers and customer service staff on the hospitality team:
- Coordination with the security team and the back office.
- Coordinator for the ticket office, online ticketing, and the audio/multimedia tours.
- You will work shifts at the cash register/entrance as needed, for example, to cover for staff during breaks or in case of illness.
- Participation in projects:
A vibrant workplace in the heart of Haarlem. A position for 32–36 hours per week, with competitive terms of employment in accordance with the Museum Collective Bargaining Agreement. The position is classified in pay grade 9, with a gross monthly salary ranging from €3,346 to €4,348 based on a full-time (36-hour) workweek. You will initially receive a one-year employment contract.
