The Hague Museum of Modern Art is one of the most beloved museums of modern art in the Netherlands. It is housed in a unique museum building designed by architect H.P. Berlage. The collection, comprising 160,000 works of art, is internationally renowned and includes modern and contemporary visual art, photography, fashion, and applied art. Each year, we organize approximately thirty-five exhibitions at the Kunstmuseum Den Haag, the Fotomuseum Den Haag, and KM21. In addition, we also organize exhibitions and projects elsewhere in the Netherlands and abroad.
Within the museum, the Partnerships & Events department is responsible for increasing and managing revenue from fundraising and donor relations. In doing so, we focus on corporate partnerships, foundations, and corporate and individual donors (including bequests). The department also frequently organizes various events for small and large (international) groups with the aim of generating additional revenue for the museum. Through various activities and programs, the department also fosters the museum’s social and community engagement with the city of The Hague and its residents.
The Hague Museum of Art is seeking a candidate for its Partnerships & Events department:
Head of Partnerships & Events (32–36 hours)
As Head of Partnerships & Events, you are a creative, strategic thinker and a connector. You identify (commercial) opportunities and create avenues for the museum to forge new partnerships and relationships. You have a vision for fundraising and events, for developing the museum’s public engagement program, and for strengthening the connection with the residents of The Hague. Both internally and externally, you increase the department’s visibility and know how to further build support for the Kunstmuseum.
The department currently consists of 7 employees. We are looking for someone who can take a team of (senior) professionals to the next level and who can establish impactful collaborations with partners.
