Since 2012, the Amsterdam Light Festival Foundation has been organizing an annual festival that brings light art to life in Amsterdam’s public spaces. We enrich and connect visitors and residents of the city through unique light artworks. In addition, we are developing a unique educational project specifically for elementary schools. Approximately 1,500 elementary school students from across Amsterdam learn about creativity, technology, and light as an art form through a series of three workshops held at their schools.

What will you be doing?

As a fundraiser for the Amsterdam Light Festival Foundation, you will be a key driving force behind our organization. Your goal is to create a more sustainable financial foundation. You will combine strategy with action and work to build long-term relationships that are essential for the festival’s continued growth. Hiring a full-time fundraiser is an important next step for us in the festival’s development. You will begin by assessing opportunities in the field, leading to the development of an ambitious fundraising strategy and a blueprint for approaching the corporate market. You will then translate this strategy into compelling plans and proposals. Meanwhile, you will build lasting relationships with companies, foundations, and government agencies.

Who are you?

  • A cheerful, smart, and enthusiastic person who isn’t afraid to approach others;
  • With a college or university level of thinking and work experience;
  • Knowledge and experience in fundraising;
  • Commercial, analytical, proactive, and self-reliant;
  • A strong connection to—and preferably experience with—art and culture;
  • An interest in fundraising within the social sector;
  • Excellent command of spoken and written Dutch and English.

What do we offer you?

  • The opportunity to help shape our evolving organization;
  • A one-year contract, with the option to extend;
  • Use of a company laptop, travel allowance, and a phone allowance;
  • Opportunities for professional growth and development;
  • Hybrid work – our office is located in downtown Amsterdam;
  • A position for 20–24 hours per week; start date to be determined;
  • A competitive salary ranging from €3,150 to a maximum of €4,650 gross per month based on a 40-hour workweek, depending on your knowledge and experience;
  • You'll be joining a close-knit team with a passion for art.
