Are you an experienced, coaching-oriented manager with a clear vision for business operations? Do you have an affinity for the visual arts, embrace inclusivity, and enjoy working in a dynamic and complex educational environment? Then come work at Academie Minerva!
Minerva Academy, part of Hanze University of Applied Sciences in Groningen, is seeking a Head of Operations (0.8 FTE).
As Head of Operations, you have an important dual role. On the one hand, you lead the staff of the Educational Support Office team; on the other hand, you are responsible for setting up and ensuring the smooth functioning of business processes, both in the area of education and in various other policy areas. You inspire, motivate, and support your team members, ensure a robust HR cycle, and focus on the development of both individual employees and the team as a whole. You propose adjustments to educational support and logistical processes, procedures, and systems, and, where necessary, take the lead as the connecting link between the academic and operational processes. In addition, you will coordinate and implement Hanze-wide operational and IT processes, take on cross-school tasks, and serve as the point of contact for various administrative offices regarding service provision. You will manage a number of school-wide portfolios, including finance and HR (both in collaboration with the dean), quality assurance, and IT, providing support and advice in the development of policy plans and reports.
You have extensive experience as a manager in a complex organization. You have a coaching and collaborative management style and operate with transparency. You are able to think beyond the confines of specific programs and academic disciplines. You have a clear vision for managing operations and for the role of the team, including in relation to the strategic plans of Minerva and Hanze University. You have a clear communication style, are reflective, and are a strong discussion partner at both the strategic and tactical levels. Furthermore, you have insight into administrative, organizational, and functional relationships. Because you will be working in an international environment, we expect you to speak and write English reasonably well and to be able to function and communicate effectively within a different culture.
