We host over 400 events a year, ranging from cabaret, music, dance, and theater to television productions, business meetings, and pop concerts. All of this takes place at our two venues, the Stadsschouwburg and the PHIL, in the bustling center of Haarlem. Due to team expansion, we are looking for a Facilities Assistant for32–36 hours per week. We need you to ensure that all facilities-related processes are well organized.
Organization & Department
The Stadsschouwburg and the PHIL are the two largest venues in the city of Haarlem. The organization consists of 55 full-time staff members, 50 catering staff, and a team of volunteers, who work together to ensure that all performances and events in both buildings run smoothly. In addition to the Director, the department consists of 2 staff members and 3 building managers.
What will you be doing?
As a facilities staff member, you play a crucial role in the management and maintenance of our inventory and services, and you contribute to the long-term, sustainable inventory planning for both buildings.
- A sample of your responsibilities:
- You will serve as the point of contact for general facilities matters, including IT equipment;
- You will perform maintenance and repair work on IT equipment (printers, laptops, telephones), furniture, and other devices;
- You will purchase materials within the established guidelines and budgets, and/or prepare requests for proposals from third parties;
- You are responsible for safety in and around the buildings;
- You are responsible for preparing (rented) halls and other spaces for use.
What are we looking for?
- Completed vocational training with a technical background;
- You are familiar with computer systems and applications such as MS Office and TOPdesk;
- You think in terms of solutions, are service-oriented, but also know how to set priorities;
- You have strong communication skills;
- You are flexible and able to switch easily between different tasks and between internal and external clients without losing sight of the importance of keeping our operations on track.
