In this challenging role, you will be responsible for the tactical management of two fire stations, thereby playing a crucial role in ensuring the safety of the region. Rapid global changes in climate, safety, and demographics are bringing new challenges. These changes also require the continued development of the Fire Department’s operational tasks.
You are a member of the Fire Service Management Team and are skilled at communicating management-level decisions to commanders and personnel, while also conveying their feedback to management.

The Fire and Rescue Service is responsible for a wide range of tasks aimed at ensuring safety in the region. In addition to fighting fires, the Fire and Rescue Service focuses on rescue operations, providing assistance at accident scenes, and preventing incidents through risk management and public education. With 18 fire stations, 450 career firefighters, and 250 volunteer firefighters, the Amsterdam-Amstelland Fire Department is on standby 24/7 to protect the region’s residents, with the goal of creating a safe and resilient living environment.
