With over 9,000 members, Entrée is one of the largest cultural youth associations in the Netherlands and connects the audience of the future to the Concertgebouw and the Concertgebouw Orchestra. Through our offerings of competitively priced concert tickets, ancillary programs, and our own innovative concepts, we introduce as many young people as possible—up to the age of 35—to classical music.
After three years, our chairman, Carel Coenraad, is stepping down from Entrée, and we are therefore seeking a new chairman to take over on June 1. Entrée is on the verge of developing a new five-year strategy, and the new chairman will also play a role in this process.
As chair of the Entrée board, you will work with the Entrée board to set the direction of the association, ensure consistency across all Entrée initiatives, represent the association’s interests, and maintain contact with the Concertgebouw, the Concertgebouw Orchestra, and the Concert Friends. You will chair the meetings of the Entrée board and the Youth Council, where all ongoing activities and events are discussed. As chair, you will play a unifying and inspiring role for everyone involved with Entrée. The chair of the Entrée board also participates in the board meetings of Concert Friends and serves as the primary point of contact for the manager of Entrée.
The Entrée board consists of four enthusiastic volunteers and is supplemented by representatives from the Concertgebouw, the Concertgebouw Orchestra, and the Concert Friends. In addition, Entrée employs a full-time manager, a content marketer, and a producer. A large team of volunteers (our Youth Council) also handles event production, marketing, and outreach efforts, and maintains contact with Entrée’s target audience through other associations, orchestras, and cultural institutions.
The position of board chair is unpaid and requires an average of 8 hours per week. Board meetings and meetings with the Youth Council are scheduled in the evening after work hours. You will also be in regular contact with colleagues at the Concertgebouw and the Concertgebouw Orchestra, which requires a flexible schedule.
Interested? We look forward to receiving your application by April 27. We will hold the first round of interviews with candidates during the first week of May. Please send your cover letter and resume to Rodie Gramberg, manager of Entrée, atinfo@jouwentree.nl, with the subject line “Application for Board Chair.” If you have any questions regarding this position, please feel free to emailrodie@jouwentree.nl.
