Board Member of the Cultuurfabriek Noordkade Meierijstad Foundation
The Cultuurfabriek Noordkade Meierijstad Foundation is the umbrella organization for the four independent foundations Phoenix Cultuur, Cultuur Haven Veghel, De Compagnie, and Blauwe Kei, Theater aan de Noordkade. The board of Stichting Cultuurfabriek is seeking a new (unpaid) board member, effective February 2023, who has the time and energy to join the board of these wonderful cultural and arts organizations.
Board and Position
Board member Paul Koeslag succeeded Martien van den Hoven as chair of the board of Stichting Cultuurfabriek effective January 1, 2023. This has created a vacancy for a board member. Given the composition of the current board, we are seeking a board member with an entrepreneurial mindset and a relevant (business and diverse) network in and around the municipality of Meierijstad. Board experience and an affinity for art and culture are, of course, essential requirements, complemented by up-to-date knowledge of both the business and social aspects of entrepreneurship. The board adheres to the Governance Code for Culture and is eager to make room for board members from diverse backgrounds.
The board meets 6 to 8 times a year, and individual board members may be asked to take action on specific issues. This could include consultation with various key stakeholders, such as the municipality of Meierijstad and partners on the Noordkade. Attendance at events such as openings, festivals, and staff meetings is appreciated. This enhances the board member’s understanding and serves as an important barometer for gauging the culture of the various organizations.
Management
The management of the Cultuurfabriek Foundation consists of an equal three-member executive team, comprising the directors of Phoenix Cultuur (Barbara Brouwer), Cultuur Haven Veghel (Sebastiaan Beks), and Blauwe Kei, Theater aan de Noordkade (Harry Vermeulen), along with the artistic director of De Compagnie (Jan van Hoof). They are primarily responsible for their own organizations. Together, they are responsible for the success of Stichting Cultuurfabriek as a whole.
