The DeGoedeZaak Foundation is seeking two board members to attend 4–5 meetings per year. This is a part-time, unpaid position. Application deadline: August 15, 2026
The DeGoedeZaak Foundation (DGZ) supports or organizes campaigns aimed at strengthening a progressive, social, fair, inclusive, sustainable, and democratic society and creating new campaign channels to achieve this.
The foundation is independent of political parties and movements, serves the public interest, and is a nonprofit organization.
Over the course of its nine years of active existence, DeGoedeZaak has established itself as an ally for active citizens in the Netherlands. DeGoedeZaak does this by supporting initiatives, campaigns, and organizations that strive for a fair economy, a sustainable future, a just democracy, and an inclusive society. As a civic movement, DeGoedeZaak plays a crucial role as a connector, a megaphone, and an agenda-setter. Civic movements, active citizens, and NGOs look to DeGoedeZaak for its expertise in launching and executing campaigns, as well as in building coalitions and fostering collaboration.
To ensure the most balanced distribution possible of skills, perspectives, and expertise—and in accordance with the principles of the Diversity & Inclusion Code—we are seeking two new board members to expand the current board (three members) to the desired maximum of five members. We strongly encourage people from diverse backgrounds, with varied experiences, ages, perspectives, and identities to apply.
DeGoedeZaak strives to ensure accessibility in the selection process and is willing, where possible, to make accommodations for candidates who need them.
Two members of the general board with
A meaningful and responsible role within a growing organization that continues to evolve both in terms of its mission and its structure. As a board member, you’ll contribute directly to that development and to DeGoedeZaak’s social impact.
The board explicitly aims to reflect society. We strive to create a board that brings together different perspectives, areas of expertise, experiences, and backgrounds. We believe that diversity of experiences and insights leads to better decisions and a stronger organization. That is why we expressly welcome applications from people who are currently underrepresented on boards and in supervisory roles.
The board meets 4 to 5 times a year, preferably in person at the office in Utrecht. Outside of these meetings, members occasionally serve as a sounding board for the director. Members are appointed for a term of 2 years, with the possibility of reappointment(s). The position is unpaid, but expenses may be reimbursed.
We strive for a complementary board, in which members from diverse backgrounds contribute their knowledge and experience and hold each other—and the director—accountable by asking probing questions.
Are you interested? If so, we warmly invite you to apply. Please send your cover letter and resume to sollicitaties@degoedezaak.org by August 15, 2026. Not sure if you meet all the requirements? Even then, we warmly invite you to apply. Interviews will take place in September 2026.
