Many consider the Royal Carré Theatre to be the most beautiful theatre in the Netherlands. The theatre is known for its diverse programming of national and international theatre productions of the highest caliber. With every conceivable theatre genre, from circus to cabaret and from pop concerts to opera, Carré offers a unique theatrical experience for everyone. For over 136 years, 400,000 visitors have made their way to the famous theater on the Amstel every year to experience the magic of Carré. Everyone is welcome at Carré, no matter who you are or where you come from. This applies not only to our visitors but also to our (future) employees.
No two people are alike. Everyone has their own talents. Carré strives to be an organization with a diverse workforce, where everyone feels welcome and safe. A place where everyone can be themselves and is given the space and recognition to utilize their talents and contribute to the theater in their own way. We are actively seeking colleagues with diverse cultural backgrounds, physical disabilities, gender identities, religious beliefs, sexual orientations, or ages. We especially encourage all potential new colleagues to apply for the open positions. We uphold the Code of Inclusion & Diversity in the cultural sector.
As of November 1, Carré is seeking a manager to join our permanent team. Before, during, and after the performance(s), you will be the face of Carré. As a manager, you will be responsible for and oversee the operations team (food and beverage and hospitality), and you will directly supervise the supervisors, theater staff, and other employees.
Work experience in the cultural sector or theater is not strictly required. The manager we are looking for has an affinity for the hospitality industry, is hospitable, flexible, and has a can-do attitude. As a manager, you will be jointly responsible for all audience services and will contribute to one of Carré’s objectives: providing our visitors with an unforgettable experience. You will be responsible for handling inquiries from visitors and taking action in the event of emergencies. We are looking for someone ready to take the next step in their career, with a passion for hospitality and leadership.
You have at least 3 years of experience in this or a similar role in the hospitality or events industry. You have a high school diploma or equivalent and a working knowledge of HACCP laws and regulations. Additionally, it is a plus if you hold a food safety certificate and first aid certification (or are willing to obtain them).
Are you the new team member we’re looking for? If so, please send us your resume and cover letter by Monday, September 16, 2024. You can apply by clicking the “Apply” button. The first and second rounds of interviews will both take place on Tuesday, September 17, or Wednesday, September 18.
