Job Description

As of November 1, Carré is seeking a manager to join our permanent team. Before, during, and after the performance(s), you will be the face of Carré. As a manager, you will be responsible for and oversee the operations team (food and beverage and hospitality), and you will directly supervise the supervisors, theater staff, and other employees.

Work experience in the cultural sector or theater is not strictly required. The manager we are looking for has an affinity for the hospitality industry, is hospitable, flexible, and has a can-do attitude. As a manager, you will be jointly responsible for all audience services and will contribute to one of Carré’s objectives: providing our visitors with an unforgettable experience. You will be responsible for handling inquiries from visitors and taking action in the event of emergencies. We are looking for someone ready to take the next step in their career, with a passion for hospitality and leadership.

Requirements

• You have a welcoming attitude and enjoy interacting with visitors.
• You can lead and motivate a large, young team of employees, and this gives you energy.
• You can handle stress, you know how to respond in (emergency) situations, and you can keep a clear head.
• You speak and write Dutch and speak English.
• You live in or around the Amsterdam area and can get home by bike or public transportation after 11:59 p.m.

What's on your resume?

You have at least 3 years of experience in this or a similar role in the hospitality or events industry. You have a high school diploma or equivalent and a working knowledge of HACCP laws and regulations. Additionally, it is a plus if you hold a food safety certificate and first aid certification (or are willing to obtain them).

• Salary between €3,365 and €4,807, based on full-time employment. Compensation depends on your experience, education, and skills.
• A contract with a fixed number of hours, to be determined by mutual agreement (primarily in the evenings and on weekends).
• 8% vacation pay and 27 vacation days per year based on full-time employment.
• Travel expense reimbursement based on our green travel policy.
• A hearty lunch (or dinner, if working the evening shift) and fresh fruit are served daily at Carré.
