MIMIK is Deventer’s premier cultural and entertainment destination. With four movie theaters, a multipurpose theater, a bar, and a café, MIMIK offers every conceivable combination of culture, experiences, and nightlife. MIMIK is open all day long; we are a lively meeting place in Deventer. With a team of over 40 staff members and more than 100 volunteers, we love to surprise and enrich our visitors.
The theater and film operations are managed by the MIMIK Foundation. The hospitality operations are managed by a private limited company, with the MIMIK Foundation as the sole shareholder.
Due to the expiration of the terms of office of members of the MIMIK Supervisory Board, the following positions will become available in the near future: a member with a legal background and two prospective members.
The member with a legal background will step down in the spring of 2025. In just over a year, the terms of two other members of the current Council will also expire. To allow their replacements a year to shadow them and get up to speed, we are already making room for two prospective members.
The Supervisory Board is the employer of the Executive Director and exercises comprehensive oversight of the Executive Director’s policies and the general affairs of MIMIK. The members of the Supervisory Board serve, both individually and as a team, as a sounding board for the Executive Director. The duties of the Supervisory Board are described in the Articles of Incorporation of the MIMIK Foundation. The Supervisory Board (RvT) operates in accordance with the Cultural Governance Code and the Diversity and Inclusion Code.
The Supervisory Board consists of five members. The aim is for the Supervisory Board to be composed in such a way that the various fields of expertise and areas of focus are well represented. The Board meets at least four times a year and reviews its own performance at least once a year without the management present.
The Board has three committees: the Strategy & Policy Committee, the Compensation & Selection Committee, and the Audit Committee. We are currently seeking (prospective) members for the first two committees.
