Theaterproductiehuis Zeeland is seeking a member for its Supervisory Board—someone with professional experience in the arts and culture sector and knowledge of the cultural field and related policy developments. Experience as a board member is not required. What is important, however, is your personality as a board member, your steadfastness, your sense of humor, your substantive contribution to the supervisory role, and your qualities for the further development of TPZ and the Board of Supervisors. This vacancy has arisen due to the expiration of one of the members’ terms of appointment.
Theaterproductiehuis Zeeland is a production company based in the province of Zeeland. It is a hub where performances are produced, talents and creators take up residence, and TPZ serves as a driving force for culture in the region. In addition to creating productions, TPZ organizes the annual Zeeland Late Summer Festival, a platform where site-specific performances are presented and where new creators and collectives can be seen, with Zeeland as their stage.
TPZ offers theater makers, musicians, and artists from the Netherlands and Belgium a platform to develop their talent. Rooted in the Province of Zeeland, a region in transition within a world in flux. Together with artists, we create multifaceted and multidisciplinary performances, always drawing from their artistic core.
The performances are created for unique venues in the region, for various stages and festivals throughout the province, and tour nationally and internationally.
The Supervisory Board currently consists of four members, including a Chair, who, together with the new member, also serves as the employer representative (Remuneration). The Board includes a member with the necessary financial expertise, a member with knowledge and experience in the political, administrative, and legal fields, and a member with in-depth knowledge of the cultural sector (retiring).
Within the Board, there are two committees that prepare decisions for the Board: the Audit Committee and the Compensation Committee. The current composition of the Board calls for greater youth and diversity.
The Board meets about six times a year. Naturally, your attendance at important events and performances is appreciated, and you also serve as a sounding board for the executive director when needed. You attend performances and visit festivals to stay up to date on the latest developments.
This is an unpaid position. However, there is a fixed annual expense allowance.
We are looking for someone with a passion for theater, music, and festivals who closely follows developments in the Dutch (and Flemish) cultural sector. Your network is nationwide—and perhaps even international—and will enrich TPZ. You are resilient, independent, and well-equipped to ensure that your role on the Board of Trustees and beyond adds value to TPZ.
Together with the chair, you will form the compensation committee, and from a supervisory perspective, you will fulfill the employer responsibilities associated with this role.
Theaterproductiehuis Zeeland strives to be a diverse and inclusive organization, and that includes having a diverse Board. We are very interested in meeting candidates with such enriching backgrounds.
Please submit your response by March 27 at the latest. You can email your letter of interest to vacature@theaterzeelandia.nl

If reading this has energized and inspired you, but you don’t feel you quite meet the requirements (yet), please get in touch anyway, because there’s room for young talent on the Board of Trustees.
