HVO-Querido helps people regain control of their lives and maintain that control after a period of upheaval. We operate in Amsterdam, Amstelveen, Diemen, and Hoofddorp. With over 1,600 employees and a budget of €184 million, HVO-Querido provides support at 75 locations to approximately 8,000 people in vulnerable situations. We provide shelter, housing support, and daytime activities to people who, for various reasons, need (temporary) assistance with these needs. In doing so, we always collaborate with other (healthcare) organizations to tailor our services and ensure the best possible outcomes for our clients. We operate in a rapidly changing social context: the number of people without a roof over their heads is rising, while societal tolerance for misunderstood behavior is not. In this challenging environment, HVO-Querido continually adapts to changing circumstances.
In recent years, HVO-Querido has grown rapidly. The number of clients receiving care has nearly doubled, and the number of employees has also increased significantly. The organization is highly regarded by its clients, employees, partners, and funders. HVO-Querido is committed to and capable of leading the way and being innovative in these areas. These ambitions require time, effort, and focus from everyone. We operate based on three core values: together, as equals, and with courage. These core values serve as the guiding principles for the 2026–2029 Long-Term Policy.
