Vfonds is looking for a trainee for the fund’s supervisory board. Are you interested in learning the role of a supervisor? And do you want to contribute to our mission: inspiring people to work toward peace, freedom, and democracy? If so, we warmly invite you to apply!
Vfonds is the national fund for peace, freedom, and veterans. We are here for everyone who works to promote peace, stands up for freedom, and supports a strong democratic constitutional state. We believe in a society where everyone takes responsibility. We fund initiatives with the goal of encouraging all residents of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to work toward peace, freedom, and democracy.
We are an independent fund led by an executive director, with a policy-planning and executive office staffed by approximately 15 people, as well as a supervisory board. The supervisory board oversees the fund’s policies and general operations, and serves as a sounding board and employer for the executive director. The board generally meets four times a year on Fridays at our office in the heart of Utrecht.
During your internship at Vfonds, you will assist members of the Vfonds Supervisory Board with advice, practical support, and fresh ideas. You will develop skills and gain experience as a future supervisor. Do you have aspirations for a career in governance and do you support our mission? If so, this is a unique opportunity to get acquainted with the role of supervisor at Vfonds.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, innovative thinker. You will work at the senior management level and have the ambition to eventually take on a supervisory or regulatory role.
In addition:
This is a temporary position for a maximum period of 2 years. After 1 year, if both parties are satisfied, the appointment may be renewed for the second and final year. In principle, there is no prospect of a permanent position on the supervisory board upon completion of the term. In addition to a small quarterly stipend, you may claim reimbursement for travel expenses incurred.
Are you excited about this position and do you fit the profile? If so, please apply by sending your cover letter and resume to sollicitatie@vfonds.nl, with the subject line “Application: RVT Trainee.” The application deadline is June 14, 2026. The application process consists of two rounds of interviews. The first interview is scheduled for Monday afternoon, June 29, or Tuesday afternoon, June 30.
If you have any questions about the position, please feel free to contact Bart Hoitink, chair of the Supervisory Board’s Compensation Committee. You can reach him at sollicitatie@vfonds.nl or by calling the general phone number at 030-2006833.
Vfonds works with, on behalf of, and for everyone living in the Kingdom of the Netherlands. We believe that diverse perspectives strengthen our collective work. That is why we strongly encourage people from a variety of cultural, social, and/or personal backgrounds to apply. Do you see yourself in (most of) the profile? If so, we would love to meet you.
We are recruiting the trainee directly for this position. This is therefore not a call for referrals.
