At Zinder, we believe in the unique contribution that every person, big and small, makes to our society. Qualities and talents reinforce one another and contribute to a better world, today and tomorrow. We offer our students a safe and engaging learning environment. A place where we learn from and with one another. A place where children learn to face the future with confidence and a strong foundation.
What applies in and around the classroom and school applies to the entire organization: we work based on trust rather than control, and with principles rather than rules. We view the dynamics created by differences between people as valuable and instructive. We want everyone in and around Zinder to feel that they are welcome here.
The supervisory board provides comprehensive and independent oversight of the operations of Zinder and its executive director. The supervisory board also serves as a sounding board for the management. That sounds less boring and formal than it actually is: this supervisory board likes to do things a little differently. This board believes in oversight that is in tune with the times—without compromising the legal frameworks of good governance. This supervisory board also fully supports Zinder’s values as well as its own values (curious, courageous, versatile).
The supervisory board meets five to six times a year and consults with the Joint Participation Council twice a year, but it particularly enjoys visiting all of Zinder’s schools annually and engaging in dialogue with teachers and principals during Zinder meetings.
To keep things clear, let’s just make a list:
Zinder, and consequently the Board of Trustees, places great importance on ensuring that the Board of Trustees is as broad and diverse as possible in terms of gender, age, cultural background, and specific areas of expertise. Given the region in which Zinder provides education and the current composition of the Board, you will have an advantage if you have ties to Deventer and the surrounding area.
