VIA ZUID is looking for someone who is familiar with current practices in the performing arts sector and has a background in finance.
What does the position offer?
VIA ZUID is a talent development organization for the professional performing arts in and based in Limburg, founded in 2013. VIA ZUID supports emerging, talented artists—such as choreographers, performers, directors, writers, and composers—as they build their independent professional careers.
VIA ZUID is led by a two-person board consisting of a business director and an artistic director, supported by a small team of professionals.
The role of supervisory bodies has changed fundamentally in recent years. They are now held far more accountable for the quality of an organization’s strategy and leadership. In addition, supervisory board members and supervisors are expected to account for their own performance and that of the entire supervisory board.
In addition to comprehensive oversight of finances, service quality, and the active fulfillment of the employer’s responsibilities, internal oversight requires a strong moral compass. The new-style supervisor is closely involved in the organization’s operations and brings specific experience and expertise to the table.
The guiding principle for the profile of the members of the Supervisory Board is that the members should complement one another. For comprehensive decision-making, members are needed who possess a broad perspective and, in addition, have a specific point of view or area of focus. The composition of the Board of Trustees is structured in such a way that there is a strong mutual relationship of trust, so that the Board can act as a team and all members can operate independently and critically toward one another and any other interests. Each member of the Supervisory Board is expected to be able to assess the broad outlines of VIA ZUID’s overall policy.
Integrity, a sense of responsibility, and an independent mindset.
VIA ZUID is seeking someone with a background in finance and a good understanding of current practices within the performing arts sector. The Board of Trustees is committed to diversity in the broadest sense, including in terms of gender, age, cultural background, and specific expertise. People from diverse ethnic and cultural backgrounds are strongly encouraged to apply.
