RTV Utrecht is the leading regional public broadcaster for the province of Utrecht. Our mission is to create and distribute media content that appeals to and reaches all residents of the province.
At RTV Utrecht, we believe in the power of stories. We cover the major issues and the small events that bring our province to life. Our stories surprise and connect people, and help build a better society. Every day, we are committed to sharing these stories through our own online platforms, social media, and our radio and television stations. In addition, we collaborate with partners both within and outside the public broadcasting system to give our stories a wider audience. As the Foundation for Cooperating Public Broadcasters in Central Netherlands—our official name—we are dedicated to fulfilling our role as a Media Service under the Media Act.
Due to the departure of one of our members, we are looking for a new general member for our board of supervisors.
As a candidate for this role, you have valuable experience as a member of a supervisory board and a clear affinity for the (public) media.
We are looking for someone with the following specific qualities and experience
At RTV Utrecht, we strive for diversity at every level of our organization. We believe that a diverse workplace should accurately reflect the community we serve. Diversity encompasses not only gender balance, but also age, educational background, experience, skills, and social and cultural background.
Our supervisory board meets about eight times a year, but we meet more often if necessary. These meetings include five regular sessions, two consultations with the works council, and a self-evaluation. A regular meeting and the preparation for it take an average of 4 to 8 hours.
We value your dedication and expertise, which is why our members receive appropriate compensation for their work.
Our meetings are usually held at the RTV Utrecht office. We have also taken out directors’ and officers’ liability insurance.
Our selection committee reviews a long list of suitable candidates and invites a number of them for an initial interview. Following this interview, the preferred candidate is invited for a second interview with a delegation of members of the supervisory board.
Applications may be submitted through August 18, 2023. We plan to conduct interviews in September at our studios in Utrecht. The final nomination and decision will be made at the next meeting of the supervisory board.
