The Partnership for Appropriate Education

Waterland Secondary Education consists of seven participating school boards:

Volendam Catholic Education Foundation, Vonk Foundation, Atlascollege Foundation,

iHUB Foundation. Our goal is to provide appropriate, high-quality education

for all secondary school students in the Waterland region.

Supervision requires an independent, thoughtful, and proactive approach. This

means that the Supervisory Board, within the scope of its role, is actively involved in the

sets the strategic direction and oversees financial continuity and

transparency.

    maintains active contact with the broad network of stakeholders within and

    outside the partnership. This involves seeking feedback and proposing

    new perspectives and asking the right questions at the strategic level.

  • In full

    Supervision: The Supervisory Board oversees the general conduct of business within

    the SWV and monitors the achievement of strategic and financial

    continuity and policy implementation. This oversight also includes monitoring and

    assessing the efficiency and effectiveness of policies and strategic decisions,

    with a focus on financial accountability and risk management.

  • Employer's role:

    The Supervisory Board is responsible for the employer's role in

    in relation to the managing director. This includes, among other things, the evaluation of

    the role and support in leadership development within the

    organization.

financial health of the partnership. This includes not only the

reviewing budgets, annual reports, and investment plans, as well as

monitoring and improving financial information flows that contribute to

transparency and accountability within the partnership. In addition,

contributes to efficient collaboration, ensuring that financial processes are clear

and are carefully monitored.

Profile and

expertise

  • Spacious

    knowledge and experience in finance and business operations, preferably

    within a complexly funded nonprofit organization

    in matters concerning financial continuity and the impact of strategic

    long-term decisions, including the associated accountability and

    insight into treasury, financing issues, and investment decisions, with

    an eye for long-term planning, risk management, and strategic direction

    with governance and oversight, while maintaining a balance between engagement and

    administrative distance

    a strategic, analytical, and independent perspective, focused on evaluating

    policy and decision-making.

  • Demonstrable

    an open, collaborative attitude and the ability to work together with other regulators

    to contribute to the effective functioning of the Supervisory Board

    strong analytical skills for identifying connections within and between complex and

    a wide range of problem areas. Experience with and knowledge of recent frameworks, legislation,

    and regulations in the education sector, financing, accounting, and

    risk management is considered an asset

Time commitment and compensation

The

The Supervisory Board meets an average of six times a year, in addition to

committee meetings and working visits. The appointment is for a term of

four years, with the option of a one-time extension. The compensation is

in accordance with the guidelines for supervisory roles in education.

Procedure and

scheduling

We plan to hold one round of discussions on Thursday, March 6

2025 between 3:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. in Purmerend. If necessary, an alternative time can be arranged by mutual agreement.

The second round of talks will take place in week 12. The Supervisory Board will

ensure a smooth transition and a good start for the new member.
