The Supervisory Board is the body within the foundation that independently oversees the policies of the Executive Board and consists of five members, including the chair.
The Supervisory Board acts as the employer of the Executive Board. It also provides the Executive Board with both solicited and unsolicited advice and serves as a sounding board for the Executive Board. In addition, the Supervisory Board approves the Executive Board’s resolutions and strategic decisions. Cooperation within the Board of Trustees is professional and committed. A constructive dialogue is maintained within the Board, with respect for everyone’s position and views.
The board has three committees: the Compensation Committee, the Audit Committee, and the Education and Research Committee. These committees, which prepare decisions for the Board of Trustees, meet on average three times a year, sometimes in the presence of the Executive Board. Each member of the board serves on at least one committee. We are seeking a new member for the university’s Board of Trustees and Audit Committee.
The Board of Trustees meets with the Executive Board an average of six times a year, and a self-evaluation is conducted annually. The Board consults regularly with the Employee Participation Council. The Board of Trustees attends meetings and events organized for staff and external stakeholders to maintain a visible presence and demonstrate its commitment to the university.
The board follows a rotation schedule. Due to the departure of a member of the supervisory board, a vacancy has arisen, namely:
In general, members of the supervisory board are expected to demonstrate a broad commitment to society and to have a relevant network. In selecting its members, the board strives for broad representation and diversity.
In light of this objective, preference is given to a new member of the supervisory board who is from the Zwolle region.
We are looking for a member who sees opportunities in the region, is a strong networker, and has a knack for stakeholder management and governance.
We are looking for a team player who values relationships within the board and is open to reflection and critical evaluation. You are approachable, know how to interact with various stakeholders, and can contribute to teamwork.
A challenging role at an educational institution located in the heart of an exciting region, offering plenty of opportunities for growth and development. You’ll be working alongside dedicated professionals.
