Pakhuis de Zwijger is a platform and unique meeting place for dialogue, creation, and social innovation. Over the past 18 years, we have grown into a unique Amsterdam-based, national, European, and international platform, focused on bringing people and impactful projects together. These projects contribute to the development of a more sustainable, equitable, and future-proof society. Together with our partners, we create a platform and facilitate a conversation where we jointly formulate ambitions, explore themes in depth, and present forward-thinking insights.
Each year, we produce over 500 free programs on social issues such as social justice, the creative industries, climate and regeneration, decolonization, the new economy, and democracy. We typically do this in collaboration with partners, including citizens, the media, government, civil society, research institutions, and businesses. During the day, Pakhuis de Zwijger serves as an event venue with a contemporary café-restaurant, making it the ideal location for hosting conferences, festivals, events, meetings, or symposia. The day-to-day management of the Pakhuis de Zwijger Foundation, the hospitality business, and our venue rentals is in the hands of the executive director, who reports to the Supervisory Board.
