
Kwintes is a recovery-oriented organization for people with mental health or psychosocial issues, providing support to approximately 8,200 clients. Kwintes achieves this with a staff of about 1,900. For this wonderful organization, we are seeking: A committed and enthusiastic member of the supervisory board, who will also serve as chair of the Care, Quality & Safety Committee
You are someone with a vision for society, and you would like to help improve the situation for a broad group of people with mental or psychosocial challenges. Inclusion and diversity are close to your heart and are issues you are actively engaged with. You are familiar with the system of exclusion and may have experienced firsthand what it is like to be viewed as “different.” Your intrinsic motivation is a key component of your suitability for the position. Additionally, you possess substantive knowledge of and (treatment) experience in the mental health care sector. You are familiar with governance and have a clear understanding of the supervisory role. You are reflective, have a sense of humor, and can contribute meaningfully to the discussion within the council from an original perspective. As chair of the Care, Quality, and Safety Committee, you will take the lead on the issue of “How do you effectively oversee quality?”

Given the composition of the supervisory board, we are seeking candidates with supervisory experience. Furthermore, Kwintes aims to have a supervisory board whose members complement one another and represent a diverse range of backgrounds (in the broadest sense of the word). This position will be filled based on a binding nomination by the client council.
This is a paid position in accordance with NVTZ guidelines.
The Supervisory Board exercises comprehensive oversight of the CEO’s policies and the general course of business at Kwintes. In addition to its supervisory role, the Board also serves as a sounding board and advisory body to the CEO, drawing on its social commitment and expertise. The 2022 Healthcare Governance Code serves as the guiding principle.
The Supervisory Board meets approximately six times a year. Annual working visits are made to Kwintes’ various locations, and consultations are held with the Management Team, the Works Council, and the Central Client Council. The Supervisory Board operates on the basis of collective, integrated responsibility, drawing on complementary areas of expertise. The board works through three committees: the Care, Quality & Safety Committee, the Audit Committee, and the Remuneration Committee. The supervisory board fosters an open, transparent, no-nonsense culture with a strong capacity for self-correction, room for lively debate, and a sense of humor.
“Working together” is the guiding principle behind how Kwintes aims to organize healthcare in the Netherlands. Kwintes proactively contributes to shaping healthcare and support services and sees opportunities to collaborate with partners in the social sector to provide better care and guidance, taking the lead when necessary. Citizens, social and healthcare providers, health insurers, and municipalities work closely together to make this possible. In doing so, Kwintes contributes to an inclusive society where people are taken seriously and can lead the lives that suit them. In the more than 50 municipalities spread across the provinces of Flevoland, Utrecht, South Holland, North Holland, Friesland, and Gelderland where Kwintes operates, there is an open and innovative attitude toward partners. Kwintes faces the challenge of appropriately structuring partnerships within procurement processes and their governance. In addition, the current labor market is a key focus for Kwintes.
