It is an advantage:
Every day, KCR is committed to providing meaningful cultural education in Rotterdam’s schools. We do this on behalf of the City of Rotterdam, guided by the shared belief that cultural education makes a difference in the lives of children and young people. We believe that cultural education broadens their horizons and helps them grow—not only now, but especially later, when they are adults living in a world we cannot yet imagine.
We focus on three core tasks that are closely interlinked: connecting, safeguarding, and sharing knowledge. To embed cultural education in the curriculum, strong, sustainable relationships between the education and cultural sectors are essential. KCR’s intermediary role is crucial in this regard. Over the years, KCR has developed a wide range of activities to reach our target groups. These will be continued, refined, and further developed during the 2025–2028 period.
The Supervisory Board consists of five members and the chairperson. KCR operates under a Supervisory Board model, in accordance with the Cultural Governance Code. It oversees the general course of business and the management’s policies.
In addition, the Supervisory Board provides the management with advice, both when requested and on its own initiative. The members ensure that KCR complies with the rules of the Cultural Governance Code.
Members of the Supervisory Board receive an honorarium of up to €1,000 per year. The following characteristics are important for the entire Supervisory Board:
