Due to the expiration of one of the board members’ terms, there is an opening for a new supervisor to be nominated by the Joint Participation Council (GMR). In addition to the current board, there is a desire to add a candidate from a field other than education, but who has a strong affinity for education, youth, learning, and development. The board is seeking someone who not only contributes to rejuvenation but also to diversity in the broadest sense. In terms of knowledge and experience, the candidate should have a broad foundation in finance and business management.
The Gooise Scholenfederatie (GSF) consists of eight secondary schools and an international transition class (ISK) in the Gooi and Vecht region, specifically in Bussum, Hilversum, Huizen, Laren, and Weesp. While each school has its own unique character, they are united by a shared mission and core values. The federation serves approximately 7,100 students and provides education in vocational training, ISK, VMBO, HAVO, and VWO with approximately 700 full-time equivalent (FTE) staff members.

The Gooise Scholen Federatie Foundation provides education based on general special principles. Its goal is to provide forward-looking education that thoroughly prepares students for further education or the workforce and for active participation in society. Each school is led by a principal. The Board of Directors (CvB) bears ultimate responsibility for the foundation’s operations; the chair and the Board member have divided the portfolios. The federation’s schools are supported by the Knowledge, Inspiration, and Expertise Network (KIEN), which houses the administrative departments. The organization is based on the principles of shared leadership and management based on trust. They promise students a damn good education; always focusing on the student first, then the rules. They are building a professional community in which teachers, support staff, and administrators are given control over their contributions.

At least once a year, consultations are held with an external auditor regarding the management letter and financial statements. The Finance Committee advises the Executive Board in this regard. This committee meets four times a year.
