
The Gooise Scholen Federatie (GSF) promises:“Really great education.” “Really great education” looks different for every student, every school, every teacher, and every context. Due to the expiration of one of the board members’ terms, there is an opening for a new board member with a background in HRM and Organizational Development. The GSF is seeking a collaborative board member with a broad perspective on social developments and their impact on educational and strategic development.
The Gooise Scholen Federatie (GSF) consists of nine secondary schools in the Gooi and Vecht region, namely: Bussum, Hilversum, Huizen, Laren, and Weesp. Each school has its own unique character, yet they are united by a shared mission and core values. The federation serves 7,100 students and provides education for vocational training, ISK, VMBO, HAVO, and VWO with 1,050 employees (over 700 FTE).

The Supervisory Board consists of five members. It oversees the Gooise Scholen Federatie and its schools, as well as their engagement with the community (the social mission). In addition, the Board acts as the employer and “critical friend” of the directors. A description of each member’s duties is outlined in the articles of incorporation, the board regulations, and the internal oversight regulations, which can be viewed on the website. The Board of Trustees meets an average of five times a year, conducts a self-evaluation and a management meeting once a year, and organizes an annual thematic meeting in collaboration with the Parent-Teacher Association. In addition, members conduct working visits to schools twice a year. The time commitment averages approximately ten hours per month. In consultation, depending on preferences and competencies, it is determined which committee(s) the members will serve on. The three committees are the Finance Committee, the Education & Quality Committee, and the Compensation Committee.
Remuneration is determined in accordance with the Supervisory Board’s compensation policy. The remuneration is based on the standards set by the VTOI-NVTK. In addition, the Senior Executives’ Remuneration Act is observed. For this role, this amounts to 14,973 euros per year.
