DOK is the beating heart of Delft and the “hub” connecting education, community, debate, inclusion, the municipality, and the VAK. DOK aims to establish itself creatively and successfully as a vibrant cultural center in the city of Delft. We are looking for a new member of the Supervisory Board with a social entrepreneurship background. Does this sound like you? Then we’d love to hear from you!
About DOK
DOK is Delft’s innovative public library. We are proud of our history, our city, and what we achieve there together with many partners. At our core is a strong team of approximately 80 colleagues, about 200 volunteers, and a budget of approximately €4 million. DOK operates based on the belief that everyone continues to grow. Our five guiding values are “joy, innovation, collaboration, social improvement, and decisiveness.”
We are closely connected to our city through our two locations, fifteen Vindplaatsen (libraries in schools), and our activities in people’s homes. DOK Centrum is housed in OPEN, an initiative of DOK and De VAK, Center for the Arts. OPEN is Delft’s informal meeting place where language, culture, and technology converge. Whether you come to read, make music, dance, paint, or enjoy a good meal: everyone is welcome! DOK’s other location is DOK Voorhof, which is home to the Taalhuis, among other things.
’s Goals Dok has outlined its direction for the future in a multi-year policy plan (2020–2023). Recently, budget cuts have been implemented due to a reduction in municipal subsidies. Despite these cuts, there is a strong focus on further deepening and broadening our services, forms of collaboration, and long-term developments. New subsidies have since been secured (NPO funds), which will further intensify our collaboration with the education sector. In this way, the organization continues to evolve in tandem with its environment.

Management and Oversight
The Supervisory Board (RvT) reviews the policy and strategy development of the DOK Foundation and serves as a sounding board for the executive director. The members of the Supervisory Board critically and independently oversee the foundation. Together, they form a multidisciplinary team that complements each other in terms of knowledge and competencies and serves as ambassadors both within and outside Delft. In its composition, the Supervisory Board strives for diversity and a reflection of Delft’s population, including in terms of gender, age, cultural background, and specific expertise. Its approach to oversight is characterized by an attitude that is critical yet supportive from a distance, and close and engaged when necessary.
The Supervisory Board currently consists of six members and will be reduced to five. Due to the departure of two members, we are seeking a new supervisor with a background in social entrepreneurship.
To ensure the Board reflects our community, we are particularly interested in candidates who will contribute to the diversity and diversity of the Supervisory Board.
