
The Maritime Museum showcases how water connects the world. The museum is known as a high-profile, leading institution with one of the most exceptional maritime collections in the world. Every day, we welcome many visitors, ranging from museum enthusiasts to day-trippers and school groups. In addition, the beautiful building serves as a spectacular venue for conferences, weddings, and corporate events.
To be a high-profile and leading museum, a strong organizational structure is essential. The museum employs approximately 90 staff members, and we also work with an equally large pool of flexible colleagues. The Finance & Control department plays a key role in managing the museum’s financial results and financial position. The unique position that the Maritime Museum holds as an exclusive event venue plays an important role in this; separate budgets, management reports, and financial statements are prepared for this segment. In addition, the department handles the financial administration for a number of affiliated organizations.
The team consists of six colleagues who are jointly responsible for processing and reporting financial data. In addition, they support the executive board and management team by providing management reports that offer insight into operational and strategic issues. To lead and strengthen this team, we are seeking a:Head of Finance & Control (32–36 hours)
With your critical and analytical eye, you ensure the sound financial management of the Maritime Museum. You know better than anyone how to keep a firm grip on the financial ins and outs of the organization and ensure that internal work methods and procedures are followed efficiently. As Head of Finance & Control, you make a significant contribution to the continuity and development of the museum. You will serve in a proactive advisory role to the Executive Director regarding strategic policy-making in the areas of taxation and finance, and as a full-fledged business partner, you will work closely with the management team and the other department heads (HR and Philanthropy & Partnerships).

The salary depends on your education and experience and falls within pay scale 14 (min. €5,374 to max. €7,931) based on a full-time position of 36 hours per week.
