

Both ENDS is seeking a new member for its Supervisory Board (Raad van Toezicht) with expertise in Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (JEDI), preferably with lived experience in the Global South and experience in foundation governance. Both ENDS is an environmental justice mobilizer, combining advocacy and policy expertise to transform unjust systems worldwide, while strengthening the power of civil society to lead this change. From advocacy to implementation, Both ENDS transforms systems that profoundly impact people and our planet, including trade, finance, and beyond. In collaboration with a network of over 500 partners across Latin America, Africa, and Asia, Both ENDS connects local voices to global decision-makers to build new systems that prioritize environmental integrity and community livelihoods.
We are an internationally oriented organization based in Utrecht, the Netherlands. With a team of about 25 people, we operate in a self-organized manner—valuing decentralized decision-making, individual ownership and leadership, and an open feedback culture. We foster a culture of care and collaboration within our team.
The organization has an independent Supervisory Board, which oversees, among other things, the organization’s strategic development, financial health, integrity, and effectiveness. The implementation of policy and day-to-day operations are delegated to the Executive Director. The Supervisory Board advises on various aspects of strategic policy and acts as the employer of the Executive Director. The Supervisory Board meets at least four times a year.
In this position, you will be appointed for a four-year term, with the possibility of a one-time four-year renewal. The position is unpaid. Your responsibilities will include overseeing and advising on JEDI and bringing perspectives from the Global South to the Supervisory Board.
