More about this organization
The Royal Concertgebouw with cherry blossoms in bloom on Museumplein in Amsterdam during the spring.

The Concertgebouw is one of the most visited concert halls in the world, hosting over 900 events and welcoming more than 730,000 visitors each year. The acoustics of our halls are world-renowned—nowhere else does classical music sound more beautiful. But we offer much more than just classical music: you can also enjoy pop, jazz, film music, hip-hop, children’s concerts, and much more. We generate 95% of our own revenue. With an enthusiastic, close-knit, and friendly team, we create unforgettable experiences for our visitors.

Who are you?

  • You are pursuing a degree in marketing, communications, media/creative arts, or a related field
  • You are interested in the cultural sector and (classical) music
  • You have strong language skills (Dutch/English), are meticulous, and have an eye for style and detail
  • You enjoy experimenting, learn quickly, and back up your ideas with data
  • You can work independently, but you also actively seek to collaborate with colleagues
  • Prerequisite: You are familiar with Adobe Photoshop

No two people are alike. The Concertgebouw strives to be an organization where everyone feels welcome and safe—a place where employees can be themselves and are given the freedom and recognition they need to contribute to our mission in their own way.

What does your team look like?

Within the Marketing, Communications, and Sales department, you will be part of the MIOS (Marketing Intelligence & Online Sales) team. Although this position falls under the MIOS team, you will work closely with colleagues from Content and PR.

The position

We are currently looking for an intern (duration to be determined). This is a hands-on internship (not a graduation internship). In this role, the focus is on our email communications and content production, with a strong connection to PR. By working in our department, you will develop skills that align with your field of study and that you can apply in your future career.

Your main responsibilities:

  • Drafting and editing emails: You draft emails (in accordance with the company’s branding guidelines) and ensure they are sent without errors
  • Analyzing and optimizing results: You monitor opens, clicks, and conversions, make suggestions for improvement, and set up A/B tests (under supervision)
  • Content Creation & Editing: You will assist the content team in creating and editing images and videos for our social media channels and emails
  • PR support: You will assist with writing and editing press releases and gathering related images and background information. You will also provide on-site support during press events.

What do we offer?

  • Internship stipend: €400 gross per month.
  • An inspiring workplace: right in the heart of Amsterdam, in one of the world’s most prestigious concert halls
  • Great coworkers: you’ll be joining a close-knit and enthusiastic team of professionals who are eager to share their knowledge with you
  • Learning through hands-on experience: the opportunity to experiment, contribute ideas, and make an impact on our communication with a wide audience

Does this sound like the perfect internship for you? If so, please send your resume and a brief cover letter to Gerben ten Thij (g.tenthij@concertgebouw.nl). We look forward to hearing from you!
