Friendly Fire is a young, dynamic, and growing company with an informal yet professional work environment. We are based in Amsterdam and are actively involved in organizing concerts and events, as well as booking and managing artists from the Netherlands and abroad.
We organize club gigs and festival appearances for artists, manage their careers, and liaise with other stakeholders such as agents, record labels, (tour) managers, publishers, and more. We work with and for artists including Lana del Rey, Kensington, Yade Lauren, Måneskin, Krezip, Khruangbin, Big2, Caribou, Ry X, alt-J, Ilse DeLange, George Ezra, and many others. We also produce events such as Best Kept Secret, Tuckerville, Indian Summer Festival, and Live At Amsterdamse Bos; we’re involved in hundreds of bookings for Dutch and international artists in the club and festival scene; and we run a theater company.
Friendly Fire strives to be a diverse organization, so it doesn’t matter to us where you were born, what you believe in, or who you love. We’re curious about your talent and your ideas.
Who are we looking for?
We are urgently seeking a Senior Marketing Manager (m/f/x) for our organization, with at least five years of experience in a similar role.
In this role, as an experienced professional, you will be directly involved in our largest festivals, concerts, and projects. The newly established marketing department provides support to all departments within Friendly Fire. The focus of this new role will primarily be on the overarching strategies and activities of Friendly Fire, our shows, and festivals. A unique opportunity for someone who always sees possibilities and, with extensive knowledge of marketing and promotion, wants to further shape our marketing department in a fantastic field that captures everyone’s imagination: live music! In the coming period, we aim to delve deeper into broader themes and changes, such as setting up and optimizing CRM, e-commerce, our sales channels, customer service, evolving privacy legislation, CDP, database management, marketing, and social media. We are looking for someone with expertise and experience in managing large-scale projects such as corporate identity, long-term campaigns, website development, implementing new work systems, and guiding process changes. We are looking for someone who identifies and tackles these challenges, but is also willing to make significant progress on them—together with colleagues.
You’ll be working in a marketing team with five other colleagues, and you’ll collaborate with them on our projects. You love music and live music, but experience in music marketing or festival marketing isn’t a strict requirement. In fact, we’re open to someone who can bring new insights, experiences, and contacts—as well as the necessary expertise—to complement the existing team both personally and professionally.
The work includes the following tasks, among others:
Who are you?
You have proven relevant work experience (5+ years) in marketing, covering at least three of the marketing fields listed in the job posting. You bring new insights, new contacts, and a fresh perspective to our company and how we’ve structured our marketing efforts. Our ambitions are high, and there’s plenty of uncharted territory in the marketing field. We are specifically looking for someone who, with the end product in mind, is eager to get creative with us. You have experience with various campaigns, are capable of executing them independently, and have a proven track record in this area. You are comfortable communicating with (new) external parties and take the lead in setting up assignments, briefings, budget negotiations, and monitoring progress. You speak the language of various third parties such as ad agencies, out-of-home agencies, and other companies in the sector. You are familiar with Customer Data Platforms.
Of course, you have strong communication skills and are always up to date on the latest trends. Given the nature of the role, there will occasionally be evening or weekend work, for example at our concerts and festivals. Finally, you’re good at multitasking independently, setting priorities, and keeping track of multiple tasks at once.
We’re also very interested in hearing about other personal qualities and skills you can bring to our team. We encourage everyone to apply, even if you don’t fully meet all the job requirements.
