Timetable Coordinator / Educational Support Specialist

What will you be doing?

You are responsible for creating the academic schedules. In consultation with the administration, you will develop the annual schedule, create the class schedule for each block, and take into account regular academic activities, one-time educational projects, dates for testing and assessment, and the availability of instructors, music accompanists, and classrooms. In addition, you create ad-hoc schedules for educational projects. You are responsible for entering data into the scheduling system and for informing students and teachers about the schedules in a timely manner. You adjust schedules due to changes and/or unexpected circumstances and seek effective (and sometimes creative) solutions regarding available spaces and staff. You ensure consistency between the annual schedule and the actual class schedule, while adhering to the curriculum’s principles and staff deployment. You coordinate with external parties, including the Dutch National Ballet.

You will work at the Academy of Theatre and Dance (ATD) location on Jodenbreestraat as part of a small team, regularly consulting with the Dance Scheduler and coordinating with the administration.

What are you bringing?

You are a hard-working, stress-resistant individual with a positive attitude and a service-oriented, flexible, and independent work ethic. You have a high school diploma or equivalent, possess basic computer skills, and have relevant work experience. You are accurate in processing information and performing administrative tasks. You have excellent social skills and a good command of both Dutch and English. You are willing to pursue further training and have knowledge of classical ballet, as well as an affinity for the performing arts and art students.

The National Ballet Academy (NBA) is one of the programs offered by the Academy of Theater and Dance. The National Ballet Academy is a world-class program in the field of classical academic dance. We are the only dance program in the Netherlands directly affiliated with the Dutch National Ballet, one of the world’s leading ballet companies. Our mission as the National Ballet Academy is to nurture, inspire, and train young dance talent to become versatile dancers who excel both artistically and technically in classical and contemporary ballet, and who meet the high professional standards of today’s international ballet world.

What do we offer?

The Academy of Theatre and Dance offers a pleasant working environment for this position in a unique school building located in the heart of Amsterdam on Jodenbreestraat. Appointment and compensation are in accordance with the collective labor agreement for higher professional education (CAO-HBO). The position is classified in pay scale 8 (maximum €3,691.27 gross per month for a full-time appointment). This position involves a regular work schedule, requiring five days of work per week, with the number of hours per day to be determined. Occasionally, work may be required on weekends or in the evenings. Time off is scheduled during regular school vacations and on public holidays.
