We are looking for an Editor to join “De Sociëteit,” our inclusive weekly talk show on NPO2 covering society, politics, art, and culture, starting August 22, 2023.
In a Rotterdam studio, Ajouad El Miloudi welcomes surprising guests for the conversation of the week in his own laid-back and charming style. The new season of “De Sociëteit” airs every Sunday evening at 10:40 p.m. on NPO2, starting September 3.
Here's what you'll be doing:
- Staying up to date on current events to stay in the loop on the week’s hottest topics;
- Pitching ideas for the broadcast during the editorial meeting with expertise and dedication;
- Seeking out, finding, and inviting special guests for a refreshing conversation or engaging discussion at Ajouad;
- Conducting preliminary interviews with guests, researching current topics, and carefully carrying out all editorial preparations;
- The host and executive producer will advise you on topics for the show;
- If appropriate and possible, use your knowledge and skills to contribute to other NTR productions as well.
This is you:
- Up to date on everything happening in our society and interested in the background stories behind the news;
- Outspoken and curious about stories you don’t hear every day;
- With your creative input and perspective on current events, you’ll be a true catalyst in the newsroom;
- Familiar with and passionate about the behind-the-scenes dynamics of a television talk show; experience in a newsroom is a plus but not required;
- Someone who likes to set high standards and thinks ahead;
- You have strong communication and interpersonal skills and enjoy connecting with others;
- Willing and available to work on weekends.
Here's what we offer:
- A contract of at least 6 months starting August 22, 2023, with the possibility of extension. Depending on knowledge and experience, this position is classified within salary grade G of the Collective Bargaining Agreement for Broadcasting Personnel (salary range between €2,869.55 and €4,377.65).
- We value ambition and are happy to support your professional growth. Do you want to advance in your career, try something different, or learn something new? NTR offers plenty of opportunities for this within the company, but thanks to our training budgets and your personal career budget (€1,000 every 5 years), we believe that professional development should extend beyond the workplace as well.
- NTR offers a 6% December bonus, 8% vacation pay, a travel allowance, over 5 weeks of vacation per year, annual salary increases, a group pension plan, and a monthly contribution toward your health insurance.
- You’ll also find a highly enthusiastic team, with colleagues who rely on and support one another. Communication lines are short, the atmosphere is open, and humor and hard work go hand in hand here.
- We’re very easy to reach; there’s free parking right in front of the NTR building, and the train station is just a 5-minute walk away.
- The NTR is committed to creating a better world and is the driving force behind the network-wide Albert project. Albert aims to produce programs with lower CO2 emissions (and thus more sustainable). We offer inspiration sessions for production teams, a CO2 calculator, and share tips, tricks, and experiences with the goal of operating as climate-neutrally as possible.
Finally, NTR strives to foster an inclusive organizational culture that reflects the diversity of our society. An environment where everyone feels at home and connected contributes to job satisfaction and provides ample room for inspiration and creativity. We believe in the unique value of every individual, which is why our job openings are open to everyone.
