Museum Van Loon is looking for front-of-house staff
Museum Van Loon, located on Amsterdam’s Keizersgracht, is one of the most striking and most-visited historic houses in the Netherlands. The monumental museum buildings and the permanent collection form the foundation of the museum’s work; by presenting multifaceted narratives surrounding the collection, location, and family history, Museum Van Loon aims to be an open house with a welcoming atmosphere, where as diverse an audience as possible can feel at home.
We are currently looking for visitor services staff for our new exhibition.
Purpose of the position:
Welcoming our visitors, providing them with the right information, and ensuring they have the best possible experience. At the same time, we must keep a close eye on the safety of people, buildings, and the collection.
Key duties and responsibilities:
- Providing general information to museum visitors upon request;
- Selling admission tickets and checking them at the entrance, as well as handling ticket sales;
- Responsible for the museum café;
- Providing personal supervision of visitors and collections in exhibition spaces and the surrounding area
- Giving guided tours
Details
- Performs support tasks as requested.
- Normal working hours are between 9:45 a.m. and 5:15 p.m.; on occasion, different working hours may apply (e.g., for events or extended museum hours)

Salary:
- If you are 21 years of age or older, the gross hourly wage is €13.27 (excluding vacation pay and 8% vacation allowance).
- If you are under 21, the gross hourly wage is €10.62 (excluding vacation pay and the 8% vacation allowance).
