The Daycare Center

At KC Toermalijn, our daycare, school, and preschool work very closely together. Starting next school year, we will form a single team and work together based on a shared vision. And we’ll be doing all of this in our beautiful new building! Here, we ensure that children develop to their fullest potential, from infancy through to high school.

What will you be doing?

At KC Toermalijn, our focus is on ensuring that every child develops in their own unique way—with their own personality, talents, and interests. We take this into account starting from infancy. We assess where children can keep up and where we need to provide personalized support.

Whether you work with the babies or the toddlers, you have a knack for responding to the children’s needs in the moment and approach everything with a positive outlook. Our building has a playful and homey atmosphere that invites children to explore and relax. This also happens in our beautiful, natural discovery garden, where young and old come together. And because we work as one team with the school and the preschool, we have a clear understanding of the children and can support their development even better.

• You will receive a salary in accordance with the Childcare Collective Bargaining Agreement, Scale 6 (€2,577 – €3,541)

• Are you interested in pursuing a degree? Here, you can study part-time while working, for example, to become a teaching assistant or earn your PEP certification.
• You will be given priority for a spot for your child(ren) at 2Samen.
• We offer full public transportation reimbursement and a bicycle purchase plan, which allows you to buy a bicycle at a discounted price.

What we ask of you

You’ll be working as part of the team at the daycare center, preschool, school, and after-school care program. We work together as a team, so it’s great if you have a flexible attitude and are willing to help out your colleagues from time to time. In addition, you have a big heart for children, take a positive approach to your work, and connect easily with people. You get energy from children who need your educational support and want to make a real difference in their lives.

Of course, you also have a degree that qualifies you to work in childcare, such as PW3, PW4, Early Childhood Education, or Education, and you have a demonstrable language proficiency level of 3F. A VE diploma is required for the toddler group. Don’t have one yet? No problem—you can earn it at our expense.
